The EV news thread 🔌

They’re probably done. Starting a car company is damn near impossible. Without the personality (and obviously wealth) that Elon Musk has, Tesla never would have made it either. I’m not sold on Rivian either. They’ve been around and talked about for years…still no cars in production.

I think the only “new” electric brands we see will either be backed by legacy automakers, or from China where the government will back them with billions of dollars.

Rivian has major manufacturer money behind it, and though they had to delay, they will shipping trucks next month:

31 miles electric only range. Qualifies for $6,587 of the federal tax credit.

But bad news:

It will be available only in selected states (at least initially): CA, CO, CT, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, RI, & VT.

Getting kind of tired of that.

clt says red states cannot have hybrids now?

CNBC: GM ups spending on EVs and autonomous vehicles by 30% to $35 billion by 2025 on higher profits.

Electrek.co: Tesla Model S Plaid breaks all the records in first independent test, but 0-60 mph has a caveat.

I havent had anything to add to this thread but I figured since I bought FSR and SOLO stock last month on an article that some analysts expected up to 80% that I now am EV worthy to post here. FSR is up 40% and SOLO up 10% from when I bought. All of you should buy a lot. :+1::rofl:

Tailgating will never be the same!
