I want Ben McCollum out of Northwest Missouri State. He runs the best statistical offense in college basketball and has won 4 of the last 7 Division 2 Natties.

Pretty sure the Kim Anderson debacle at Mizzou a main reason McCollum is still coaching at the D-II level. Sure, it’s not fair to the latter but ADs remember things like that.

I was unfamiliar with him. Holy cow. His record over the past seven years is a ridiculous 224 and 15 :flushed:

Yeah…with that record you’d think he’d be a no-brainer.

But there’s a turd in the punch bowl somewhere if no one else has snatched him up either.

Would definitely take…regardless of whatever the turd is.

Needs to be stronger with the ball and not turn it over as much. He made some ā€œwowā€ plays driving the lane and then someā€ dude that was a terrible decision and passā€ plays.
Great kid and I know he is working on his shooting, right?

Google tells me he turned down the Buffalo job.

+5500 Bobby Lutz Most recently served at Ole Miss under Kermit Davis in admin role Former head coach at Charlotte (1999-2010). Went 218-158 in his 12 seasons with the 49ers. Longest of the long shots, but no Charlotte list can be complete without him.

We are not Buffalo. Our current salary for Sanchez is double what Buffalo is paying, we are headed into the AAC and there’s a reason there are probably tens of thousands of Buffalo transplants here.

Hopefully there is some mutual consideration. Might need to hire an ace recruiter at our level.

I mean seriously…with that record why aren’t we or someone else banging down his door!?

Lutz won big at Pfeiffer and that translated…this is the same but with much more body of work of sustained success.

Just seems like a no-brainer of all no-brainers.

Am I missing something?

I’ll stand by what happened at Mizzou when they hired alum Kim Anderson after he won the D-II championship in 2014 at Central Missouri as a main reason McCollum still in D-II.

And we too hired a guy in 1982 who had won a D-II title the year before.

Anyway, not saying McCollum wouldn’t be successful in D-I. He’s definitely respected among the coaching fraternity.

That and no D1 experience as an assistant nor as a player doesn’t help him out either.

I would not be thrilled with 3 at the top of the odds list
