You are right. We should not even talk to Crean. We should get a guy on the cheap. That way we have a reserve to quietly extend him when he fails
Crean has not coached since 2017. He is probably willing to accept less money now. His in conference winning percentages while at Indiana was was below .500 and below .300 while at Georgia. Granted the AAC is not the BIG or SEC. Mean Joe I respect your opininion but what do you see in his resume that convinces you that he will be successful. I would consider it a borderline hire. But maybe I am wrong. And I do understand your concerns for hiring a coach from Division II. However, I would consider the Firman coach a pretty solid hire and the former Queen’s coach that is now in Milwaukee as solid hires.
At least stansbury would tickle our balls in the off-season before fucking us during the season. I like a little foreplay.
(And no I don’t actually want to hire stansbury)
That looks a lot like being employed but not coaching to me
I was primarily comparing Crean’s superior experience of being CEO of a big time basketball program with a small time coach who has never had to manage so many or operate under the weight of $millions. Sanchez had to decide if he was a sit down coach or a standup coach.
Can a small time coach still be a great coach when he will have so much to learn (beyond coaching)? I think so, but not certain. McCollum not having to deal NIL or the Portal is going to need to deal with those realities here. Maybe he deals with them in a unique and productive way here by staying true to himself.
Still like Richey
We will likely hire someone that has not been mentioned yet. You guys have fun debating though to pass the time.
He has to like us too.
It’s happened that way basically every single time. It’s exhausting.
Are we ruling out some of these guys?. I know the dead guys probably won’t take less than $2million
That’s pretty amazing that McCollum not isn’t having to deal with the portal considering about a third of this year’s transfers - almost 900 - were at the D-II level. But then Dusty May has been lucky enough to avoid it too!
Should consider Frosty Cox.Frosty Cox (2014) - CU Athletic Hall of Fame - University of Colorado Athletics
Morrell, it’s a wrap
I hope not
That sounds painful
Hill likes throwing curve balls. I would agree.
Is this guy implying that we still run an honest program and actually expect student athletes to actually be students??
How horrible!!!
Where more like Michigan than unc (in more than one way).
He wouldn’t take $3million
