Boy am I glad I was at work and didn’t hear this game. I guess I should have known. Why should we expect any different then any other year? There are 3 things you can count on in life … death, taxes, and Charlotte b-ball getting off to a slow start to the season. Ugh !!! Hopefully we can turn it around with a win at Valpo. This sucks though!!

New season but same old story. No way this is a top 25 team! We will be lucky to go to the NIT! PATHETIC!
Actually, the team played very well. The one thing that seriously cost us was Bobby’s decision to play EJ and Brendan at the same time. They are just too great a defensive liability to have on the court at the same time.
Eddie, Iti, Nance and Curt had solid to great games.
Brendan played solid first half, garbage second half.
Mitch played poorly, made bad decisions and didn’t take advantage of his matchups, but was solid defensively all game. We were a lot worse when he wasn’t on the floor.
EJ is just terrible. He may be more of a defensive liability than BP. He gets abused down low, jumps at every player’s movement and gets lost on almost every play.
It still came down to free throws. Just like every game we lost last year and the year before and the year before…
No it didn’t, that was just a part of the reason we lost. The fact that Brendan got shot over 2 times in a row for 3 pointers and was still guarding the guy is a testament to how badly we got outcoached.
We played good enought to win this game handily. Free Throws lost this game for us. I am very dissapointed tonight. Don’t know how we can win if we can’t make free throws down the stretch.
I think we should just all vent tonight and put this behind us tomorrow. It’s a long season.
Look at the final score and look at our FT%. We win going away if we shoot 50%. Even that % is lousy. Yes, I am sure there could have been some adjustments in the match ups, however, FT’s are an elementary part of the game.

You’re right, the entire reason we lost the game was FT shooting. That was it, we blew an 11 point lead because of FT exclusively.
I guess you could also say if they weren’t almost perfect from the line, we win too. But, the FT line is only a small part of the game. We let them have wide open shots all game and they started hitting them. That’s as much as or more of a reason why we lost, wide open 3-pt shots that they finally started hitting.
13 point lead…we blew a 13 point lead. i’m not arguing with you, just emphasizing how much we f’d it up.
If they weren’t so miserable from 3 in the first half, we get blown out. Our perimiter D always sucks.

This loss it tough but I am not prepared to say we are that bad. This game was lost because of free throws. That’s 16 points throw out the windown. All we needed was 3 of that to win. We can set here and blame Lutz or Plavich, just like last season, but it comes down to hitting free throws. If we hit 3 more free throws, the mood of the board changes.
