TIME FOR NEW BLOOD - SEND THEM ALL PACKING

Men’s basketball has flat-lined halfway through a projected “breakout” season…

There isn’t much else that needs to be said.

I am as loyal a Niner as you’ll find, and have rationalized the need for patience with our program for long enough. My faith in this staff to turn things around is exhausted.

Judy, you are culpable. Another offseason of excuse-making and blind allegiance to a failed coach will effectively tarnish your legacy from my perspective. Reinvigorate the fanbase or retire.

Definitely time to clean house.

When are we going to recruit players who are good at the game of basketball? If you were going cast a movie about basketball you could use our guys as extras but the skills of the game just aren’t there. Athletic looking doesn’t always equal a good player.

When are we going to run a functioning system and have an identity? Teams like Davidson eat our lunch every year it seems like because they run an organized system and play as a team. It seems like nobody knows their role on this team or how to play together. They have no confidence in their teammates or themselves.

Tear it down. Start over. No other choice at this point. Basketball program is dead. CPR will not work.

I’m very patient. And have been. But,

Tear it down. ASAP. It doesn’t matter who stays and who doesn’t.

I’m in the same boat. This team could dominate at the ymca, just sucks playing against even bad organized basketball teams. Our players missed open shots and made dumb passes, players and coaches are to blame. I knew coaching was bad and the more the season goes on, I’m questioning our “talented” individual players.

I am all for this. I would say burn it to the ground but this structure has already collapsed. So I’ll say it’s time to torch the rubble. This coaching staff has done nothing in five years. We are no better off than we were at the end of lutz era. I don’t think any of these guys are qualified to run a division 1 program. Individually and as a team I can’t name one area of the game we have improved on. Quite the contrary actually. Every year it seems we come out of the gate strong only to get progressively worse as the season goes on. The only thing the coaching staff has proven is that it can recruit talented players and over time take away all their confidence and make them underachieve both as players and as a team. There is no charlotte basketball any more.

I’m done.

I will not come back to another basketball game until it is worth watching again. Actually, I will come to Sr night this year to pay respect to Henry for putting himself thru this abysmal torture for the last 4 years. But that is the only reason and the only game I will come back to until this sh!t changes.

Hard to believe he picked us over VCU.

If Major is allowed to stay after this season, the Judy/Major dynamic will officially be akin to Wellman/Bzdelik.

By the looks of it Major and company are on the way out so my vote would be:

  1. Bobby Hurley…http://www.ubbulls.com/sports/mbkb/coaches/hurley_bobby
  2. Brian Wardle…http://www.greenbayphoenix.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=3754213
  3. Chris Mooney…http://www.richmondspiders.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209707304

Bobby Hurley would be very very interesting

Same here- burn it down. I’ve done my best to be fairminded but this is awful. Rice couldn’t beat an intramural allstar team and they come in and beat us at home.

No more excuses

not saying he would but if i had to list some reasons, bigger market, better facilities, better fan support and a better program historically(i said historically). that being said, he has turned down bigger jobs than us i believe so just forget mooney. i would love hurley. there are a lot of good coaches at smaller programs, in north carolina and beyond, who would be realistic options for us.

The head coach of NCCU (can’t remember his name off the top of my head), would be my top pick.

Guy completely turned around a 5-10 win basketball program into a contender, instituted a total culture change. Something we need.

#1. Mooney makes 700k
#2. Better fan support? This is the craziest thing I’ve seen in ages on this site. Our attendance has been garbage for several years, and it’s only getting worse.
#3. Why would anyone leave a good basketball league to go to a CUSA team that hasn’t been to an NCAA in 10 years.

Why not just get Shaka Smart while you are at it?

im not saying we have good fan support but we do when we win. even when richmond wins, their fans dont come out. as i stated in my first post, i dont think he would come here but we still probably have better support than them. my theoretical argument for it is based on history, facilities and again, fan support.

levelle moton. i would love to get him also. sounds like he is a good recruiter and a strong personality, both of which i like.

Glad to see so many on board with moton. Wish we had made the switch last year. If we don’t get him this year, he’s gonna be gone.
