I had the privilege of working as an extra in Homeland for the first 3 seasons which were filmed in Charlotte and surrounding areas. I was in a number of scenes with Claire and she’s a serious actress and professional all the way. But I gotta say seeing her in person, up close, left me a little star struck at times.

That’s pretty cool. I started watching Homeland for the first time a couple of months ago and immediately recognized the Charlotte area locations. I’m up to season 6 and having a hard time sticking with it now though.

Keep going it ends strong!

Very cool. She is one of my favorite performers.

We finished off Stranger Things this week. I agree that the series would be better with a more consolidated release. However, I thought it was good. There are flaws, but I was entertained and engaged.

I enjoyed it for what it was. I think they wrapped it up pretty good. I had no idea the creators are from Durham and based a lot of stuff off of Durham area locations, like the radio station, etc.

I finished up Homeland last night. Great show and they wrapped it up well, imo. I place it only behind “The Americans” when it comes to spy thrillers.

Has anyone watched Warrior? I enjoyed the first episode, but then the (imo unnecessary) gore at the end has me questioning if I want to continue watching. How much gore was in the series?

I assume you are referring to the martial arts crime drama. I really liked it. There’s some gore, but there’s also a good story that’s told, imo

Have you tried Slow Horses? If not, I’d suggest you add it to the list.

I call that the Claire Danes Crazy Eyes effect. Honestly I thought the show took a big downturn when one of the main characters left the show (hopefully that wasn’t much of a spoiler).

I have to give that show another shot. The pace of the show seemed to match the title of the show for me.

I was expecting a downturn after the end of season 3 but was pleasantly surprised with the remaining seasons. Some of the later seasons start slow but then pick up nicely.

The first season was its low point. Yeah if you want thriller, it’s not it. Gary Oldman is so good in this. It seems to get better with each season. Stellar reviews on IMDb and Tomatoes. So, it’s not just a me thing
