When does the 2012 Rival 150 come out? I’m interested to see where he is ranked.
Said this before and I’ll say it again…make it a point to speak to him and his parents at the games!! Thank them for coming to all the games and point blank tell them you hope Tyler plays 49er basketball as we have a long history of great shooters and he would fit in nicely!!
where do they usually sit? I haven’t seen him at the games, but not sure I would be able to pick him out.

Tyler Lewis : Class of 2012 PG with Steve Nash Like Court Vision
Snap. From the highlights it looks as if homeboy’s got some serious skill at ball handling and passing. How tall is he again? Either way, glad to know he comes out to our games. Hope he is a 49er in the future.

if he comes here, i think we need to change his shot.
he’ll be the next greg paulus at duke
Yeah, on his toes. He’s tiny, but he can play. I hope we get him. Judging from the vids he’s a lot more athletic than I thought. He’s definitely our number 1 target for 2012. It seems we’re pulling out all the stops.
He’s still a kid, I bet he’ll grow to be about 6’2 like his brother. A 6’2 point guard with his athleticism and shooting would be great.
He’s a sophomore and is barely 5’9. I highly doubt he will end up at or over 6’. But I think we are paying a little too much attention to the height. The kid can flat out play, and even if he never grows another inch, will likely be a top 5 pg in his class.

5’9? Ah, I thought he was 5’11. Well, he’d still be great you’re right.
Video shows excellent court vision for his size. He passes with flair, but also good accuracy. Does a good job when going to the basket of using his body and the rim to protect himself from getting his shot blocked into the 3rd row bench (a must for a player his size). His outside shot looks fair. Doesn’t seem to have great speed, but appears to mix fakes and head feints and a pretty quick first step to beat his man.
Seems like a more cerebral player. Not a bad thing. Regardless of where he plays at the next level, he’ll have to rely on that even more, as the speed of the game and the size of the defenders increases.
I would have liked to have seem him on defense.
I think my favorite play he made was the fake in the lane followed by the perfectly placed skip pass that allowed his forward to catch and finish in one motion. Envisioning him faking out defenders with moves like that and feeding Braswell… they could form a nasty combo together. His passes and Braswell’s elite hands…? Just filthy.
He’s got a sick cross over for a short white kid. He doesnt look very fast, but he definety knows how to get to where he wants on the court, and has great court vision. I also like the variety of scoop shoots he has around the basket. He has a knack for getting his shot off on bigger, more atheletic defenders, and thats something you cant realy teach. Definetly needs some work on his shooting form. As I see it he has alot of intangibes that you cant teach, so a few more years of working on his game and he shoud be really good. And I definetly think he will grow more, I went from being 5’8 at the beginning of my junior year of HS to 6’3 by my freshman year of college so it definetly can happen. I wouldnt be suprised to see this kid blow up and end up in the ACC or SEC, but hopefully we can get him. I also thought #21 on his HS team looked like he had some D-1 potential, that kid is a beast with a great jumper.
I did…its like he ground up a horse. GLUE
Kid has talent, and lots of room still to improve.
hate to be a kiljoy, but…
if he’s a top 5 PG and the ACC really wants him, I don’t like our chances. Hope I’m wrong, but it would be the first time we’ve gotten a kid that Duke or UNC-Ch really targeted.

Maybe we can throw our $10 mill annual basketball expense at him and take the train to away games and eat off the $1 menu.

If he goes ACC, it will be Wake. I still like our chances. I’ll like them even more if we make the tournament the next two years.
