I hope Phil and Judy see the size of that crowd.[/quote] Going to be interesting to see if they sustain that level over the season.

Maybe we should shut down our program for a couple of years, give Phil and Judy time to retire, and see if we can attract that many.

UAB had an impressive opening game against a FCS school. I’m really concerned where we are going to find W’s this season.

The way G5 schools have been “relegated” it’s all about player development now. JMU just beat east Carolina like they stole something. Unfortunately the gap between G5 and P5 is much larger than the one between G5 and FCS

After three home games UAB leads the conference with over 32k average attendance and beat one of the favorites in the West in La Tech last week. They have an excellent chance to go bowling this year. It appears Smaug has awoken.

I wonder if they still have the Girls of Conference USA" thread.

:grinning:

Way to go UAB! Wish we could say the same…

We can say we had our highest attended home game ever (NC A&T) and our lowest attended home game ever (Marshall) in the span of the same season.

I imagine we will get lower than the 10k threshold for the MTSU & FAU games. Homecoming may see 12-13k.

Truly amazing on all fronts. Look out, Tide! Y’all may have to kill everyone at uab if this keeps up. :)) :)) :))

clt says we have a nice stadium tho.

Hooversun.com: UAB Athletic Director Mark Ingram: Outlook for new football stadium is good

There are so many similar historical parallels between UAB and Charlotte. Why did UAB decide to start football in 1991 and Charlotte not until 2013?

uab is in a football-crazy state and we’re in, well, NC. Plus our AD had NO interest in starting footbal.

We can’t compare UAB to ourselves. Birmingham is much larger than Chatlotte and everyone knows there are no good football programs in Alabama or even in the surrounding states.

Seriously, I hope our new AD realizes the value of capturing the Charlotte market. Our outgoing AD seemed to have trouble with that concept.

clt says we need to send an invoice for the expansion at the rich to the city of Charlotte.
