My gut is if we go 2-1 and maybe win 1st round game he us 100% safe. Finish with losing record and lose first round his grip on the job is iffy at best.
I donât see how that makes much difference. The season is what it is at this point, barring an NCAA run. The only argument you could make is that maybe the players show some kind of turnaround in chemistry and effort from the previous poor play, but the competition is bad to mediocre so just winning wouldnât really indicate that.
I didnât see what he had done to get a 3 year extension either. If he does enough to close the season to make Judy and the donors feel good then he sticks around.
I was completely convinced he would be gone because the stands are so empty, and there is such an uproar about the way we are playingâthen people here posted articles about Woods and Ogbueze and man it really looks like we are going to have a team next year! I know, I know, that is the Niner mantra. I still feel Major doesnât make the in-game adjustments he needs to. I do not feel that he has this team ready to run through a brick wall for him, or play like their hair is on fire, and I want to see both. I just do not think he gets everything out of his players that he could. I am ready for a new coach, but if he is back next year and wins big I will just shut up.
This sounds like a good idea now in the midst of whatâs going on, and as much as I want Major gone, I do think we could do worse. Itâs important to me that we take the time to do a proper search and make an educated hire. I donât want just anyone. Whether or not the AD actually does that ⌠well⌠yeah

Moral of story. Mind your pâs and qâs and crap performance ok.

Coaching situation aside, I think a lot will depend on Sullivan too next season. Clayton and Thorne have dipped since the start of the season. Has Major lost them? Are they tired? Who knows. I just know weâll need more production from the post.

I was there Saturday and he hasnât lost them IMO. Thorne was plaing hard as hell and I thought Willie did too- just gotta hit some shots. If Sullivan is productive they will sitsome.

Major is Ed Baldwin 2.0
Some things never change
No, Ed had a great personality.
Did not Baldwin have some great years preceding his crap years, too?
