This team can’t play man to man and they start every game with it until they just about get blown out before playing zone. I’m sure this is on orders from Major because it’s exactly what he did. Well I can recommend a good search firm to Judy who will get the job done.
Norton for UAB is averaging 6.2 points per game and we let him light us up for 26. Letting mediocre players have career nights against us is way too common under the Major regime.
How many times can we play this same game? Down early, come from behind to take the lead, then wither down the stretch. An extra made free throw here, a defensive stop there, and we walk out with a W. I know it’s cliche, but we just don’t know how to win.
Talent and effort are there, fundamentals and focus are not. Five years is long enough. Time to move on.
It’s inexcusable, but let’s not act like that’s unique to the Major era. Letting mediocre players have career nights against us is a 49er tradition that goes back at least 15 years.

Not to pick on Clayton but he has been to the line 82 times this season which leads the team by far. After the 0-5 debacle tonight, he is now at 40% on the season. Hard to prevail in close games with a liability like that.

He and Thorne should be shooting hundreds of FTs on their off days, no reason to shoot that poorly.
Gamer, My point is, why isn’t our best 3 pt shooter who hit his first 3 3s not taking more and more 3s? UAB Norton attempted 11 3s hitting 6. I would rather woods be 6/11 than 3/3.
