UAB Postgame

Same old story

We actually shot very well except for FT. 55% FG and 8/12 3pt, 8/15 FT

Defense was poor. Open alley oops and open 3s. Dumb turnovers

Dorn and woods with great games. Woods 3/3 from 3. Why he only had 3 3-point attempts is beyond me. Wtf. Shoot the damn ball.

STOP PLAYING HENRY WITH 2 FOULS IN THE FIRST HALF.

Also, stop with the man-2-man. It’s just flat out terrible, we suck at it.

This team can’t play man to man and they start every game with it until they just about get blown out before playing zone. I’m sure this is on orders from Major because it’s exactly what he did. Well I can recommend a good search firm to Judy who will get the job done.

Being a fan of this program at this point in time is the most miserable fan experience I have ever had in 40+ years.

This thread could have stopped with the first sentence.

Norton for UAB is averaging 6.2 points per game and we let him light us up for 26. Letting mediocre players have career nights against us is way too common under the Major regime.

How many times can we play this same game? Down early, come from behind to take the lead, then wither down the stretch. An extra made free throw here, a defensive stop there, and we walk out with a W. I know it’s cliche, but we just don’t know how to win.

Talent and effort are there, fundamentals and focus are not. Five years is long enough. Time to move on.

It’s inexcusable, but let’s not act like that’s unique to the Major era. Letting mediocre players have career nights against us is a 49er tradition that goes back at least 15 years.

True story :frowning:

Not to pick on Clayton but he has been to the line 82 times this season which leads the team by far. After the 0-5 debacle tonight, he is now at 40% on the season. Hard to prevail in close games with a liability like that.

He and Thorne should be shooting hundreds of FTs on their off days, no reason to shoot that poorly.

All I saw was that Clayton took a jump shot and missed to end the game in regulation.

What did that shot look like? I would rather Henry shoot from half court than see Clayton shoot a jumper.

The Clayton jumper at the end of regulation looked like a knuckleball.

We lost, but who cares? I mean really. Our only hope now is to win the CUSA Tournament and that sure as hell ain’t happening.

UAB opened the game with a 8-0 run and then the second half with a 13-0 run. Pathetic

Dorn and Woods are fun. Anything else I would say are the same damn things I’ve been saying for 5 years. How small can the crowds at halton get?

We hit 2/3 of our 3 pointers but only attempted 12 total. We avg about 18.

The younger guys should be getting a lot of playing time at this point. Develop for the future.

clt asks if we are on pace to make the cusa tourney. That is all that matters.

Gamer, My point is, why isn’t our best 3 pt shooter who hit his first 3 3s not taking more and more 3s? UAB Norton attempted 11 3s hitting 6. I would rather woods be 6/11 than 3/3.
