UAB Pre & Post game thread

Exciting game at the end.

Sign behind the goal “UAB at least we have football” or something to that effect shows how disconnected some of our fans are.

Sign was kind of funny I thought. Why would that mean our fans are disconnected? That sign has been used on us before and just returning it a little bit.

Because they have football again…

It wasn’t but a few years ago we were saying that if we could just get rid of the bottom feeders of the A10…
How’d that turn out?
It worked. We were a bottom feeder and we left they replaced us with Davidson. A10 came out ahead in that trade at the moment.
At least the A-10 tried to do some creative scheduling to keep the league RPI up when we were in it. The top tier teams could avoid some of the RPI anchors at the bottom of the league.

More teams than us left the A10 and more teams than Davidson went in. I’m not sure A10 basketball is better than it was our last year there. Temple, for example, was fairly stout. Now, if your saying Davidson is in better shape than us right now, that’s pretty obvious. Duck Favidson.
Im just saying be careful about complaining about bottom feeders and getting rid of them when over the past 5 years were have been bottom feeders.

lol. We are 4-13 and in last place in our conference. We are currently the lowest bottom feeder.

We just have to beat the rest of the bottom and we will be fine. We haven’t played those guys yet. Marshall will be an interesting game. They have already played the bottom. Might be a good indicator of where will will end up in conference.

I don’t count the W’s until they fall. It looks to me like any team can beat any team in this conference.

Nice that you’re happy Sully’s career is over NLP. Nothing I said was wrong, by the way. I posted (as seen above) that IF the doctors cleared him AND he wanted to play then he should. Those 2 things did not happen apparently. The second quote of mine that you added there is especially true. Thanks for posting it.

Well crap. The right decision though.

The 10 Commandments of Niner Basketball strikes again

yep. But it’s not like this was a Jarvis Lang type season ending loss, but our team’s ceiling is now much lower.

They didn’t this past year and they won’t this upcoming year. I don’t know whether the sign holder knows that but I will assume so and that it is a sarcastic tongue in cheek sign.

Coach Fancher said it in the pre-game hospitality.
Yet, he announces he’s leaving.
How’d that happen?
I listened to the pregame and didn’t hear Fancher say that, did he whisper in your ear after?

I’m glad you can pat yourself on the back about a kid having to stop playing the game he loves because of health concerns. Fancher did state in the hospitality room that Sullivan had been back out on the practice court and they were hoping to get him back, things must have changed, doesn’t change that Fancher said it.

Nice try, nobody is happy he’s leaving it’s what we expected and it’s good he’s taking no risks.
Belford at Davidson just had to make the same decision.
It must be really hard on those kids.

What I heard when he spoke was a big “no idea” on him.

Whatever… time for the next game thread.
It’s sure nice to see interest rising and the board coming alive again.

Could have easily had a re-aggregation the first day back and then called it quits. Concussions are very grey areas to us still.

Do you go upstairs or downstairs for the pregame hospitality?

Yes, usually and did that day. I have to say I was impressed very much by Fancher. Good speaker.
Evidently it was open to interpretation. Nuff said about this then.

Speaking of the pre-game i miss the elaborate scouting reports from the previous coaches.
Obviously wouldn’t trade off current results for a better pre-game just wishing we had both!
Made me feel like an insider.
