UGA-A....err...Georgia State wins

Does anyone think Georgia State would get 30,000 fans for its first ever football game if it were called:

U G A – Atlanta

just sayin

One thing is for sure, Georgia State wouldn’t get 30k if they built a 15k seat stadium.

dang, their AD looks kind of …modern/sophisticated/marketable?

she was hired last year after being SR AD @ Maryland…hmm

if it makes you feel any better, she wasn’t the AD when they started the football campaign.

She was AD at Saint Louis when they started, then she went on to be a top official at Maryland.

So in the end, a school started the pursuit of football with an AD, she got canned and for football they went and got a top person at a BCS school. Should make drawing comparisons more delightful for you.

As Andre Agassi said: IMAGE IS EVERYTHING

awesome… i haven’t laughed nearly as much lately with him gone

Can’t wait to see the attendance numbers for their 2nd home game. They drew 5,000 more than the Braves. Not surprising as Atlanta is a pathetic town for sports.

I must say, I’m a fan of those uniforms. Very sharp.

I would like to see attendance when they play the same day as UGA and Ga. Tech.

I just want to take the opportunity to congratulate GSU and hope our first game is as big of a success. I also want to say that I hate the GA Dome and I despise the city of Atlanta. The entire state of GA really - except for Savannah. As the old saying goes… you know why FL doesn’t fall off into the ocean? Because GA sucks.

Agreed. Congrats to GSU. I was shocked to see the attendance of over 30,000 when as of a few weeks ago, they had only sold 3,000 or so season tickets. I wonder how many of that 30,000 were students?

I wouldn’t bash them too much, as some have compared our efforts to their’s.

I’m not bashing, I think it was smart of them to schedule their first game when UGA and Ga Tech weren’t playing. I would expect the numbers to come down some when the BCS schools are playing I just want to see how much. If the numbers stay where they were last night great for them and if they come down does it come down to where they thought it might or drop lower. That is all I meant by my post.

LSU and half of Chapel Hill’s team will be playing at the Georgia Dome (GSU’s home field) on Saturday.

Haha yeah Atlanta is only good in small dosages, I would never live in that city lol

There are only two things that would enable me to live in Atlanta. 1) Live in Buckhead 2) The Atlanta Braves

You can keep the rest

I went to Atlanta for the 311 show this summer.

From here on out, I’ll go to every 311 ATL show (ATL always gets a great setlist) but that’s about all the ATL I can take.
