Many of our students don’t even know the official name of the school and many don’t know we go by only Charlotte for our athletics. Doesn’t surprise me that most of the media outlets get it wrong. It’s an easy fix, but I don’t know if I’ll be alive if and when the name change happens.

this jerk emailed me back, I explained to him we officially changed to “Charlotte” just as Va Tech and Ga Tech use a nicknames:

In those other cases, the school in general goes by the shortened form, not just the athletic program. The MBA's in the AD's office don't get to decide what the school is called, no matter how inconvenient it is to them to be stuck with an educational institution.

Ask him why they list UC Davis vs. North Carolina-Charlotte, North Carolina-Greensboro and North Carolina-Wilmington as such.

Even the Charlotte baseball media guide lists the name to use (not that this guy reads them) on [URL=http://charlotte49ers.cstv.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/ncch/sports/m-basebl/auto_pdf/08Guide][B][U]page one, line eight[/U][/B][/URL]!
