Leemire is the man. Thats all you can say about that. Coley was a beast on the boards.Mack was on fire in the second half. We didn’t play well at all uin the first half but outscored them by 22 in the second half. Woooo! Fun game to watch. I feel bad for UMass becasue they are a solid team that had a chabce for an NCAA berth,

I'm sitting here on a phone conversation, and next thing I know, we're up by 1. We were dead in the water. No inside game, and everything in there was getting blocked. UMass couldn't miss from 3, yet they couldn't hit a free throw. Or rebound.

We played with unbelievable energy during that comeback. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen more energy out of our team. The run back by Umass was pretty good but expected since I think we were tired. Then we suck it up and ramp up the energy again. What a game!
How about that dagger by Lee at the end! he stuck it right in the guy’s face. I can’t believe they gave him that much space, don’t they watch tape? Lee also had some nice drives, though he could benefit by recognizing when the bigs have him covered. Wilderness, Mack, and Coley needed to start taking into the other guy’s chest, instead of trying to go around them. When they did that we started getting foul calls and stopped getting blocked shots.
Mack really carried us in the second half, he looked like he was having a lot of fun out there.
Except for a few lapses on the kick out three, I thought our guys played pretty good D throughout. It was the turnovers leading to easy breaks and just a stagnant offense that hurt us first half. Second half we definitely turned up the pressure a notch though.
Both Harris and Gerrity had great moments, but Harris’ D on Lowe was phenomenal. Harris also had some really nice looks inside. I like his potential. If he can get comfortable being creative, look out! I just wish either Gerrity or Harris were a year apart, so they wouldn’t always be competing for playing time.
If we play like we did second half against Temple, we’ll win. The only thing I worry about is Temple has tall guards, which often give us trouble. I wonder if we’ll be tired out too, I’m worn out and I just watched the game. Way to play Niners!
Edit: Forgot to mention Coley, 17 rebounds! He showed amazing effort. He was also 6-8 from the f-t line.
I tried to tape that game on windows media center and it only taped the first half of the game. ROFL ugh. I wanted to rewatch that 3 at the end and a couple other parts

Congrats on the win. You guys wanted it more, you made the big plays down the stretch, you deserved it. I will be rooting for Xavier to win the A-10 tourney on the faint hope we can still somehow finagle the A-10’s 2nd bid, but if you guys make the NCAA’s I am sure you will represent the league well.
