Undeclared 2010 prospects per ESPN

Still players out there with decent rankings who haven’t picked a school yet (or, in Berry’s case, had his schollie revoked), asked out of their NLI following a coaching change (Heslip), etc. Anyway, here’s the link:

ESPN.com: Class of 2010 (Prospects - All Positions - All States - Undeclared)

I was just looking at this list this morning, I wonder if we have any ties to Geron Johnson, he is from Ohio so Major has that connection, seems he would be a perfect fit of what we need this fall.

From what I’ve read, he wouldn’t even qualify for entrance as a non-qualifier (at least at UD), so will probably end up at a prep school or JUCO.

I’m wondering now if Jerome Hunter of Charlotte will open it up or choose to honor his verbal to Robert Morris now that Coach Rice officially changed jobs.

Wrong height listed. According to his profile on the Midland website, he’s 6-10/215.

Seems like a worthwhile project. Maybe get him and Holloway to replace Phil & Shamari after next year?

From his 2 previous choices - St. Joe’s and RMU, sounds like he wants to get back up north to play his college ball. Who knows, maybe he follows Rice to RU.

What about the 7 footer, David Wishon from Concord? Seems to me it’d be good to bring someone like him in, redshirt him a year while he develops and then have him for 4 years on the court.

I was looking at the list and I saw a kid named Nathan Maxey. He’s 6’10 200 pounds. He hasn’t been pesued by anyone so that kind of conserns me and it seems his shooting is limited so I not sure how much of a project he is.

Have you guys heard about Murphy Holloway, a transfer from Ole Miss or Miss State, I think? A 6-7 power forward, who averaged 10 pts and 7 rebs with two years left. Would love any info, if you got it. I hear he wants to be closer to SC, but won’t be allowed to transfer to either USC or Clemson. I apologize in advance if this has already been posted. Also, didn’t mean to hijack either. Haven’t quite figured out how to post a new thread yet. Cheers.

i would love to have this guy. can you imagine him and braswell in the front court. it seems to me, that if he wants to stay in south carolina, then clemson is our only competition.

Is Bowden not on Goodman’s list because he doesn’t know what the deal is with him either, or is it the “End of Year” thing that kept him off?

Since this has become a “catch-all” thread, just reading on Zagsblog that Hofstra PG Chaz Williams is also looking to transfer. Like his fellow frosh, PF Halil Kanacevic, Williams also named CAA All-Rookie this past season, averaging 9.8 ppg and 4.2 apg (and had a game in which he had 10 assists and zero TOs). Like Kanacevic, can also see Williams ending up in the A-10.
