Who all is heading to the Porcupine Tree show? I’m strongly considering either getting tickets tomorrow or tuesday or just getting them at the door…don’t know if it would be sold out or not.

Don’t know if PT will sell out, being Charlotte and everything, but I do already have tix for the show. Do know that their Royal Albert Hall performance in October has already sold out and the one at Radio City Music Hall in September probably will too!
BTW, this tour is getting rave reviews, especially for Coachella performance last weekend, as well as their show in Dallas at the House of Blues on Wednesday. Just wish the Charlotte show was at another venue besides Amos’ - just don’t think that “warehouse” will do their stage show justice!

Whatever you do don’t take a camera with you…saw this on another forum-
These guys have a strict no camera, no recording policy. A few minutes before the gig started, someone on the PA announced this policy. Going even further than just stating the policy, the announcement included anyone caught will be asked to leave and that people should rat on those around them. It seems the band finds cameras and recording devices distracting. Huh, someone stealthing a show is distracting? Okay, I can see how flash photography would be distracting. And perhaps hundreds of cellphones distracting to the audience. But damn, no cameras at all. They just don't want videos being taken. Whatever. In case you're wondering, I did see people being escorted out of the venue for taking pictures. Shame on them for trying to capture a memory of some band they enjoy and paid good money to see
I had heard that about PT. Also happens that their Anesthetize concert DVD, which was filmed in Holland during the Fear of a Blank Planet tour, is set for release next month. So basically, if you want to see PT on video, gonna have to buy it from the PT store!
Anyway, doesn’t bother me a bit. From what I’ve read, they are doing a show that lasts for about 2 1/4 hours - the 14-track The Incident in its entirety, followed by a 7-song 2nd set and ending with a 2-song encore.
Yeah i’ve seen a few setlists from shows on the tour. I’ve only got The Incident and In Absentia so I will probably be familiar with most of the stuff they play.

I don’t understand why people have to take photos at concerts. Most are taken far away with a cellphone and they look like crap. Just enjoy the show.

How was the show? Wish I would have went to it instead of the baseball game.
FUCK YEAH! AHHHH!

I gotta disagree with ya man
There’s literally not one band above that I really wanna see. How many bands from say coachella this weekend, will play in Charlotte this year? One? (Jay-Z?)
And hey, some of those 90s has-beens can still really rock!
Ughhh… yes, by 99.7’s tired playlist and 90’s 106.5 The End’s standards.
Charlotte is a guaranteed sellout for an Eagles tour where tickets cost between $100 and $250. Taken together with my Coachella comparison, that makes for a dreadful music scene. The average tour that stops here is sponsored by Wal Mart.
I thought the new booking team at NT would help. So far, nada.
You’re NinerAdvocate … today, I am Devil’sAdvocate …
David Guetta and Benny Benassi have both been in Charlotte in the last 12 months - both were at Coachella. I suppose it just depends on what kind of music you listen to as to what your perspective on the subject would be.

That’s 2 out of the 131 artists that took the main stages at Coachella (assuming they were main stage artists). Toss in The Avett brothers, and maybe 3 more, and we’ll call it 6… or about 4.5% of the Coachella lineup, and none of the major draws…
It’s not that we never get any of those artists, it’s just that we get 20 eagles or springsteen or tired 90s band shows for every one of those.
The Avett Brothers make me tired.
