UTEP Postgame

We have a dang basketball coach.

Heard we’ve made 51 out of 59 from the free throw line. Congrats!

Looked like the largest crowd of the season. Better officiating. Home court advantage!

Down 7 at half and out scored UTEP by 17 points in the 2nd half. We were down I think 10 in the 2nd half and the team could have dropped their heads and panicked. A 20 point swing is impressive. UTEP had won 6 of their last 7.

18/20 FT (90%). Even Uchebo was 5/6

Basketball looks so much better when there are only 8 turnovers mixed in. Jon Davis with 7 assists and 1 turnover in 40 minutes!

Players were hitting their shots tonight and lots of 10 ft pull up jumpers. The white to Davis to white fast break for a dunk was nice. The inside passing only gets better and better. Too bad Uchebo is a senior and Vanhook is a junior. Wish we had more years from both.

Good games by all. White would have had 30+ if not for cramps.

I’m not sure if this was Bobby Cremins first appearance at a game but I’m sure the way the team played made Price proud of his team for putting a good performance for his old coach.

Just a side comment, I wonder if Reid Aube ever thinks to himself, “why do I not have a scholarship when I’m playing over 3 scholarship players?”

Since the Davidson game we are 7-3 in Halton with losses by 1, 2, and 5 points. In all 3 losses we were tied with 5 seconds to go in regulation. There is not a soul who could have predicted that following the Davidson debacle.

What a testament to our players and coaches. I hope our fan base recognizes this and Halton continues to come back to life next year.

Fun game. Hung tough and kept fighting. FTs: WOW!!! :-* I have enjoyed watching this team improve over the season and keep working and not throw in the towel early when they were getting pounded. They have kept team chemistry good and the future looks bright.

Nice, they have an AR badge on their uniform; didn’t notice that at the game

“We got two games left, and then it’s tournament time.” - Coach Price

You can hear it in his tone. He knows his team has a shot to pull something out in the conf tourney.

UTEP is really athletic. I don’t know how they don’t have a better record. This was a great win, and a fun game. At the end Jon Davis came up to me in the stands and thanked me for coming out and said he hoped we would be back next season. You just have to love the attitude on the team.

5811 announced, and it felt like it. It was a fun night, and you can feel this thing turning. The improvement this team has made from the beginning of the year has incredible.

The students on the UTEP end of the floor really got into Floyd’s head. Nice job.

Has no one mentioned Vanhooks incredible block? Incredible hustle play when we needed it most.Gets my vote as def. play of the year!

This. Play of the game.

This. Play of the game.[/quote] Agreed, that play was the first one in a while that got me out of my seat a little bit, and I was just watching on the computer. Never expected him to get there either, but it changed momentum completely.

I wish we could be more sound on defense in general, but I do enjoy the play of the offense.
