UTEP Postgame

Who held the records that White and Uchebo broke this week?
Who held the records that White and Uchebo broke this week?
Jobey Thomas and some stiff who played for Cincinnati. (Kenyon Martin)

Great atmosphere in Halton tonight! Fun game. I get so fired up when Price gives that fist pump! We lost that enthusiasm with Major. Let’s win these next 2 games and do some damage in conference tourney.

Also, since someone mentioned them earlier in the thread, F DAVIDSON!

Great win over a very good UTEP team.Need to win these two road games next week to secure the #6 seed in the CUSA tournament.

Great to hear BO at the press conference. These kids love Price and the staff. I really like the culture he is developing.

My wife and I listened to Mark on the post-game show. He was relaxed, funny, joked about how hard it was to play a double OT game then another game – “I would be hospitalized”, he said, referencing how many minutes as John Davis and “BO” played. And, he followed up each question with a meaningful answer as to how they did what they did – challenging them at halftime to make stops – citing “we got some stops and when was the last time I talked about our defense”. Then he engaged with Jobey about Andrien breaking Jobey’s freshman 3-point record and that he didn’t even recruit him as a shooter. he was self-deprecating and just a good listen.

He is going to do things as a coach that will honor the legacies of Foster, Rose, Mullins, Watkins (brief as it was) and Lutz.

I second every good thing said on this thread. Really happy where this team is. Despite a losing record this has been the best season in a long time. Not sure why considering the record, but something just feels better about where we are.

Chances of this happening are slim to none but this is my dream.

We win the conference tourney in a historic upset run, then because of our losing record we are in the “first four” on campus NCAA tournament games and we have a game at Halton.

Which we win in a Rice like blowout.

Sending the Niners into the round of 64.

thats the dream.

I can dream can’t I?

You sure can man.As someone said to me once…“If you don’t have dreams, all you have are nightmares”…Keep the dream alive.

My dream at this point is to embarrass cheater hill in the round of 64

I've been reluctant to shout out how good I think this team can be but damn they know how to attack offensively. They are as good as any team in the country in penetrating and moving the ball to open shooters. When they hit shots ( which is quite often) they're a nightmare for the opposition. Other teams scout and know our defensive weaknesses which causes the majority of our problems. But give me a player who is halfway athletic, hustles, willing to learn, and I'll show you somebody who can play defense. If somehow these players have a defensive epiphany they have a chance to do something special even this year.

I believe the first 4 in games are still in Dayton.

This team is at .500 in conference this late in the year for the first time since 2013 when we finished the year I believe 8-8 in A10 play. Feels like longer than that. This team can close out the year with two more wins and go into the C-USA tournament with 4 straight wins, and YES they can WIN it!

Then you’ll be happy to know they lost at fordham’s high school gym yesterday.

5 wins in the month of February. First time since 2006.

It’s been that long? Wow.

Great game last night! Halton was rocking. Coach Price is the real deal, and we have a great foundation to build on. Very pleased with the turnaround this season.

clt says it is haltron.
