Utter's blog, on possibility of transfers

http://gmine.blogspot.com/

Please just tell us, does Jim know something that we can expect to find out soon or is this speculation?

Go with your initial thought.

I don’t think it’s any huge mystery which players are likely leaving if you just put two-and-two together.

My prediction: Lewis gone! Booker gone!!!

Do you mean put “1” and “0” together?

My prediction: Two guys leave and you’re 1-1 with your prediction.

Other than Leemire Goldwire…

EVERYONE on next season’s roster is an unknown quantity, IMHO.

If one or more will be leaving, I don’t see it as a bad thing, provided it not next season’s #12.

Of course, after the High Point game on the 9th, I reserve the right to change my opinion.

Jimmy why do you think Booker would transfer, he should get at least 20 minutes of pt next year, and he has had one year in the “system” if thats what you want to call it.

i seriously doubt booker transfers. idk where that comes from…freshmen dont immediately get starter minutes anywhere else…

Just a hunch. He contributed nothing this year and he was expected to be a A-10 all freshman contender. He is extremely unathletic and I just don’t see him ever contributing and I think he knows it and the coaches know it.

Wasn’t he recruited by Benny Moss?

Maybe booker will work real hard in the offseason, get supper strong and be the next eddie basden lock down defender who doesn’t look to score and gets rebounds and sets good picks… I can dream can’t I?

Continuing the tradition of the last few years, our off seasons continue to be more exciting than anything that happend between November and February.

If we do lose two more players this year (no matter who they are), that doesn’t look good for Lutz. Not only are we a revolving door for assistants, we are becoming a revolving door for players as well… Grier, Iti, Butter - who left and came back, Niparavicius, Pigford, Tory Reed and Tyler Best have all left within the last few years. This tells me Lutz is either doing a poor job evaluating talent, evaluating how players will fit within his system, or keeping his players happy.

Also counts against the graduation rates if they don’t finish elsewhere. And that eventually could lead to losing a scholarship (or two).

My guess is Jerrell Lewis is a definite transfer. Not sure after that. Lutz consistantly has players that leave, I don’t know why but that has been the story for quite a few years now.

i can handle one, it happens. I don’t like two possibly transfering, that is very rare, and doesn’t look good for us as a program at all.

If you were the coach at another school, and you knew that you had a high school kid that was a coin flip from you and charlotte, you know you would fill him in on how bad we are at bringing in players and keeping them satisfied.

I think a lot of the reason i stopped looking for articles on our incoming class is because I got tired of getting excited about them. there is a 75% chance they show up, and a 25% chance they transfer after that.

I’d hope Carlos Williams transfers before Jerrell Lewis any day of the week.

Players transfer every year from just about every program so that is no big deal. I think it has been a tough two years because of the transition to the A10 with what works and what doesn’t.
I think Lutz will right the ship now that we have a stable situation with the conference and hopefully head coach and assistant coaches.
I wouldn’t be surprised and unhappy if Booker, Lewis, and Carlos transfered.
If we could get Mack, now we have Harris that would take up a scholarship, and another big man either HS or Juco, I would take that way over the situation we have now.
I just don’t think Booker fits in, and it seems like Carlos is unhappy, and Lewis is obviously not happy with PT. So let them go. If you don’t want to be here or are doubting it, then leave!
I would think Lutz would welcome starting over with pretty much all new faces that on the whole would have four years.

Carlos Williams, the pg we never wanted to be. just kidding!!! I hope he improves a lot next year if he’s still here and surprises us all.
