with the graduation of kyle church and parks transferring, does anybody know what the walk-on situation is going to be? i assume that the staff is looking for walk-ons. does anybody know if they are out looking for invited walk-ons? i think the staff should see if reggie price from lake norman wants to walk on. he is a good high school player who doesn’t appear to be getting the division one scholarship offers. i can’t imagine it could hurt to go to some of the local high schools and see if any of the kids getting division two level players want to walk on here. it worked with colby and parks.
I don’t know if they are actively scouting for walk ons, if they are the kids probably aren’t close to Rivals’ radar. They do hold tryouts every fall for full-time students though.
Didn’t realize Parks transferred to JCSU. I knew he was leaving. He did lack the size Major seems to like at the guard position but I liked the kid.
Wow, Ive been kind of out of the loop lately, I had no idea Trevin was transferring. That sucks, I really liked him. Yeah he’s small, but he’s quick and seems to have a good scoring touch.
Parks will do well at JCSU.
I don’t think it was you.
I think this story was never released or carried or something. It looks as if it fell through a crack. Wtf?
I hope I’m wrong.
There’s nothing at charlotte49ers.com and there’s nothing solid at NNN.
Google News “Trevin Parks” and the only thing you get is a 6/15 Charlotte Post article which mentions his transfer ex post facto.
Maybe it’s just not news worthy. -? : >:(
A walk-on transferring to a DII school isn’t exactly blockbuster news…
This. It was in the shoutbox and such and a couple threads here, but there wasn’t a thread dedicated to it.
clt says unless it occurs at unc-ch.
likely reason not to have a major story. Remember, Jim isn’t covering us anymore - I don’t know that David Scott would have necessarily known that Parks was on the “earn a schollie like Dijuan” track and looked at as a future pg rather than a Kyle Church type, especially since he’s so new to having to focus on the Charlotte 49ers. Just MO.
No one asked for a feature story…but a mention IS warranted.

For the WIN.
Huh? Don’t you read the Observer? :
Hell, you know it already, why in the world do you have to have the Observer mention it. I’m sure 99% of the general public who don’t attend games here, could care less about the fact that Trevin went to JCSU.
Please tell me this was “tongue-in-cheek”. ???
i assume you were being facetious. otherwise you are f***ing stupid. and i mean 100% pure stupid. stupid because you lack the ability to understand the negative perception that paper has caused us.
it’s dumbasses like you that have put us in the situation we’re in now.
hmm… I hate the observer and see the bias just like you guys but this is pushing it… he was a walk-on, a WALK-ON, if Chapel Hill had a walk on transfer MAYBE they would get a write up, I don’t think Clemson, Wake or NC State who are just as far away would get anything mentioned either. Just my little opinion though (ducks and runs…)
<3 offseason <3
agreed. their bias against us goes beyond not liking us. it reaches intentional aspirations of keeping interest of our team at a minimum.
if Chapel Hill had a walk on transfer MAYBE they would get a write up
correct. they did. and why is it ok for the tarholes to get writeups while we do not? it’s called “REPORTING THE NEWS”. not promoting the alma mater of the sports editor. i agree. this is small. but the s*** mike did to us during cusa was enough to set us back 10 years from a fan support view.
Another paper has it covered…
