Welcome Coach Albin!

Yea thatā€™s one of the beauties of living in Charlotte, can quickly be in the mountains or the beach.

We better not forget to welcome his dog, Macey, to the Queen City! Sheā€™ll love to colonies of squirrels that live here!

What do meaningless and pointless bowl games that arenā€™t winning a championship mean to you? ~65% of the teams play in a bowl game right? And .500 is a minimum requirement. Seems we just suck enough to not get the participation trophy.

Itā€™s tradition for the subdivision called FBS. It means something to me because weā€™ve only been to one and lost it. Itā€™s the first metric of a successful season.

I donā€™t know why youā€™re caught up on the CFP. I canā€™t fathom how thatā€™s an expectation. I just want us to do well.

Since only one team From G5 makes CFP it is a bad metric for success but a worthy goal.

Winning a conf title is a better metric, but as we saw with Albin and the Mac, where that was their first conf title since 1968, you can have a successful program and maybe not get that.

Bowls are the first step and an achievable goal for a program. We need to first make and win bowls.

Making the CFP will not happen. The deck, created by the P4, is stacked against all but the chosen few.

Add in the portal and NIL and you can just forget it.

Can still have extremely successful seasons that are entertaining and fun.

I look forward to seeing what this coach can do.

Conference championships should be the goal. Bowls are for the kids and whatever freebies they get.

And I wonā€™t derail this over my bowls are pointless rant but not sure how people really think .500 is a successful season. We need bowl games in basketball to make us feel better I guess.

Extremely excited with this one. This is a guy with a proven track record.

If he canā€™t get it done, itā€™s time for us all to ask ourselves some pretty difficult questions, because there is a common denominator in the lack of success here.

68 teams in ncaa tourn and then 32 in NIT tournament in basketball make a post season. Thats 100 teams.

There are 43 bowl games. I know there are more basketball teams competing for those slots than football ones, but just pointing out that the bowls arenā€™t way out of line.

Plus as a fan Iā€™d love to visit a few bowl locations.

If you are bowling regularly you arenā€™t a bad program. Obviously we want to be better than that though.

This. I consider a conference championship a successful season. With the cfp guaranteeing s g5 spot, itā€™s a possibility of course, but I find that to be an unfair standard to hold a coach to in an unfair system.

And to clarify I donā€™t consider a winning season without a championship a failing season, I just mean conference Championships are more important than a 6-6 season bowl game invite.

NC State hasnā€™t won a football conference championship since 1979, Chapel Hill since 1980, and South Carolina since 1969. We should strive to win the conference but have a little perspective when making blanket statements. I long to see competent +.500 football.

There is a path to the CFP, and the top AAC team has a great chance. Is it easy, no but its doable

There are. Itā€™s called the NIT and the CBI. We won the CBI just a couple years ago and Iā€™m proud of that.

Just need consistent bowl games or whatever. Thatā€™s a good thing.
