On the Athletic comment sections of the coaching announcements the Ohio (and even some non-Ohio fans that live locally) are being brutal to this hire in terms of “lateral move at best” or “step down” or “head scratcher”. And I don’t mean sporadic comments - I mean 100% of the comments are these. So this lets me know we got a good one - but I still don’t like these comments. I know we have not earned respect yet - but geez it is brutal. And certainly does not help attract players or other talent.

clt has concerns about the led headlights. maybe with his new $$$, he can get a led kit that matches the original look of the car.

we cannot have our head coach looking like he went to the advance auto parts bin

I get it- they won 30 games over the past 3 years, they’ve been to Bowls- the optics of moving to a program very few know about (outside of the teenage coach taking his shirt off and the next coach looking like a homeless man) is probably confusing to many… Even if they don’t want admit it, its a big move up from the MAC to the AAC and he’s got an opportunity here for growth he wouldn’t have at Ohio…

If you mean if I was at a party with people that felt positively about bowl games and they asked my opinion on them, then I suppose I wouldn’t be a blast at that party. I shouldn’t be at the wrong political party then either.

The NIT are still filled with good basketball teams. Not all bowls are filled with good teams. And to whomever was proud to win the CBI, that’s good. There aren’t many.

Back on topic, a bowl game to the new coach is routine at this point. Let’s keep that a routine and strive for more.

Congratulations Coach Tim! You are the next major sport head coach hired by Mike Hill.

I doubt recruits are reading those comments but probably reading how many zeros are in the nil check we’re handing them.

Exactly. They won 10 games, and their conference championship and their reward is the cure bowl. Ecu is 6-6 with no good wins and plays against a p5

It’s a great gig. Based on THE Mike Hill’s previous hires, Ai predicts Coach Tim will not even need to show up for work the last 2 years to 3 years of the contract, in order to receive all of his Niners salary. Ai had one caveat about the first contract being extended as probable. That was with Ai predicting zero bowl games during any contract period. Better coach that last Ohio bowl game, Coach Tim

Hopefully, he convinces Purdie and some of our better players to stay and brings some of his with him

And just had a weekly Teams call for work and one of the guys is from Ohio and huge Buckeye fan but knows Ohio well and he literally said the same thing - it was a step down. Hopefully they are proven wrong.

See that his wife Brooke is here too. Don’t see their children in these pics but may be here as well.

clt says this is definitely a “step down”

we only have:

larger athletic budget
more students
better conference
no mid week games
lower acceptance rate
same R1 status
bigger city
global airport
bojangles
better weather
NFL team 8 miles away
better bowls
ESPN studios in Charlotte
