I certainly gripe about them. They are a rival of ours even if they don’t feel the same about us. Part of my dislike is typical sports hate, which is harmless, even fun (and part and parcel of fandom).
But I also know that: 1) at times, their administration, usually through their heavy influence on the BOG, has worked to keep our program and institution down, and 2) they admitted they cheated, big time, for decades, to their accrediting body no less. All of their national championships in basketball are tainted. Those two things are worthy of actual scorn.

I noticed sinciere harris reposts a lot of charlotte stuff. What’s the scouting report on him? From what I ready, excellent athlete and defender, but bad shooter. Is he a guy you think your new coach will try to keep? If he comes here, is he someone we should be excited about?

I’ve lived in this state my entire life. I’ve disliked the tarheels since I was a small child and well before I even knew the Charlotte 49ers existed. Old habits die hard. I am trying to swallow my pride and be less of a tarheel hater but it is against my nature. I wish Kevin White, Wes Miller, Sean Maye, and all the others tarheels that join the Charlotte staff the best if they can win games.

After watching this clip, I really like this hire more. With how close he still is with Roy, I have to believe that he was told he wouldn’t be in the mix the tar hole job, if they wanted to “keep it in the family”.
No one needed to tell Miller he wasn’t in the mix to replace Davis.

Why? If they wanted to keep it in the family (which was the criteria I mentioned), who else has 15 yrs of HC experience than Miller and is a graduate? Remember they hired Doherty after one year at ND
They aren’t hiring someone on a five year NCAA berth drought.

I grew up with parents that didnt watch college anything. Broader family was Gamecocks fans. I pulled for the Heels in middle school because you had to “pick” between UNC and Duke.
We are definitely not rivals, but I’ve had disdain for UNC since I started college and it really was fortified during our push for football.

Did Miller play on the Charlotte AAU team that i believe won the national championship; they were loaded Withers, McCants, Drayton (sp?) who played for us as well?
He’s going to be your favorite player and your most frustrating one at the same time. He’s one of the best defenders in the country—high motor, plays with passion, and never takes a play off. But offensively, he really struggles. You’ll probably lose your mind every time he touches the ball, not gonna lie. He’s the definition of hit-or-miss.

As a person who grew up in the west for a bit before moving to NC I grew up hating Michael Jordan. I absolutely hated his bulls teams. so when I moved to NC and learned he went to UNC it gave me a huge reason to hate the school. the later scandals later helped fuel my hatred towards them. Its also why I found it hard to get into the bobcats/hornets
