I remember dorm furniture bonfires and kegs on the intramural field across from the Resident Dining Hall…![]()
If he wasn’t a Bobcats legend on the court, then he certainly was a legend at the Uptown bars & clubs during his time in CLT.
That may be the first positive sentence i’ve ever seen with “Resident Dining Hall” included in it. Had some 'nam style flashbacks thinking about eating there haha
That food didn’t bother me; I had just gotten out of the Army
Edit…”Residence” dining hall
We called it the RDH!
Marcus Paige official
At least sign mj or Vince Carter.

I am sure there will people who moan about the depth of the Tarheel connections on our staff, but who cares? This coaching staff already has more national championship pedigree & experience than we have ever had on our bench, by a mile!
That experience will absolutely come in handy with two of the three most critical components of winning: recruiting & fundraising. While the coaches may not directly fundraise, the brand recognition will help White and his team for sure.
The third component is of course the X’s & O’s so hopefully the team has talent and is well coached so we can finally, after way too long, put a team on the court that wins games.

The Observer will probably actually write about us now they can throw in former Tar Heel to every article
it was 4-D chess move haha
We are now more tarheel than chapel hill. No excuses from the big business people in Charlotte with tarheel ties not to donate to us.
The hate / jealousy for the Tar Heels by our fan base is extreme and actually a bit embarrassing. And this coming from a 93 grad and lifelong resident of the area.
Our hatred is rational, our paranoia is a little silly, at least on some things
Focus on us. Little man syndrome is a waste of energy!
When we start winning again and make the tourney, they won’t care anymore.
I hate the heels as much as the next Niner but it’s been so long since we’ve had a winning atmosphere in Halton that we could use a group of coaches who know what success looks like and can effectively relay it to their players.
Personally, I’m excited to see us finally hire a coach with prior head coaching experience and success with assistants who have name recognition and experience at a winning program.
It finally feels like a new era, and as my daughter begins her time as a Niner next fall, I hope she gets to experience the excitement in Halton that I did in the 99-2004 era.
Go Niners!
