What to do with Ron Sanchez?

I’m glad he is gone, but Sanchez leaving in the middle of the night is a joke. Didn’t Bennett’s kid come here? It’s like we were a charity group for Bennett and Sanchez. Let’s get RS some HC experience here then we’ll bring him back to UVA. Oh and give my kid a secured walk on spot for the hell of it.

I wonder how Hill feels about this. Especially with those generous extensions. Either way what a waste of everyone’s time the last 5 years.

Igor is probably in a weird state of mind. He leaves UVA to come here and I’m sure that was a bit coordinated. Then Sanchez leaves him to head back to UVA.

Maybe-----but it sure didn’t appear during the season that Igor was fond of Ron.

Exactly !!!

Never was under Ronnie at Va wither.

Agree! I personally feel like Igor will bloom this season being out from under Ron. I never felt like he really fit Ron’s system anyway.

We should all offer to help Sanchez pack and move.

He probably moved a month ago

I have seen him frequently at the Extended Stay on TryonšŸ™‚. Not sure he ever relocated here. I do wish him the best. Great guy and high character. I wish he could have been successful here and hope he gets another chance with one of our AAC foes. It may help our future record!

I hope the great guy and great character comment was sarcasm too. Dude has never held himself personally accountable for our basketball program and then he tucks tail and runs away and leaves us and his recruits in a bad situation.

That isn’t great character. I’m so tired of hearing about what a great man he is. Great men and coaches don’t throw players under the bus in post-game interviews. Every high character person I know has standards they hold themselves to. Sanchez was never any of those things and he was a loser in top of that.

I thought i was the only one who thought this.

Can we hang a banner for Ron’s resignation? This was the most positive moment in Niner basketball history since 2005.

The day Sanchez resigned before he was fired was a great day. I will always remember where I was when I found out and how I was overcome by happy giggles.

Mike’s written comments did not express any regrets about Sanchez leaving, but did indicate they were very excited about the Niners basketball future (now that deadweight Ron was floating away from the mothership without strings attached).

Can it be added to the bottow of rhe CBI Championship banner ?

Just trying to take the high road since he is gone. He did us a huge favor by resigning. Would have been better had he done it earlier.

He and Virginia were probably hoping we’d fire him and they could avoid a buyout and finally just gave up waiting.

Honestly, for those defending the CBI tournament, the fact that the winning coach from the CBI ā€œresignsā€ should tell you all you need to know about it’s relevancy.

UVA may be pondering the same question. They look terrible and the body language between Sanchez and Bennett does not look good

May have to look at their system? You think, Tony?
