What to do with Ron Sanchez?

No it’s Mike Hill trying desperately to avoid firing his first two big hires, within a 12 month span. It’s a pickle of a situation for him.

Just saw on the ticker Wichita St is firing their coach after going 48-34 and 26-20 in conference, that’s a athletic program that expects better…

Back in Charlotte 68-77 and 39-51 in conference is perfectly fine… bring him back!!

FWIW, new AD at Wichita State.

FAU was performing just like Charlotte the past couple of years. This year FAU returned 77.5% of minutes played and 82.1% of scoring return from 2021-2022. This is the biggest reason to keep Sanchez another year.

If players do transfer, then maybe move on.

You think this roster with Sanchez is going dancing next year? If our players are another year older, so are other players on other teams.

Should have already been let go. But if he stays it will save me trips( and money) to Charlotte for games. My gold standard in a coach is for that coach to have a goal of winning championships, not finishing in the upper half of the league.

If it comes down to money that falls on Mike Hill. Sanchez was extended in secret by Hill which make the buyout more. Bleeding away even more die hard fans by keeping Sanchez isn’t going to help the bottom line.

May be the first time in 30 years I don’t have tickets either as a student or season ticket holder.

I just don’t see how it’s money driven decision.

The numbers of us boycotting Sanchez basketball is growing with every season failure. Next season is for the 20 to 25 percent in Halton. They can bitch and moan about us complaining about our embarrassing basketball program. Judy and Mike both seem hell bent on proving that shit basketball floats

So, pretty much official that Ron is back next season… thoughts?

If he’s not released by next Friday it’s a done deal he’s back.

Hill could still be contemplating his decision, running the numbers, evaluating potential replacements. Talking to players and staff.

Here’s the other side of the coin.

If Hill had been looking for a replacement. And there simply isn’t a home run hire, then why not wait.

Maybe the CBI is Hill’s last courtesy rope to Sanchez to save himself. If he doesn’t do well, looks even worse on Hill if he keeps sanchez

Please no CBI

this caught my attention as well. This sums up my view of current environment at CLT ā€œWichita State Men’s Basketball maintains a rich tradition of excellence and is a source of great pride for the university, for the City of Wichita, for our state and for our region,ā€ Saal said in a statement. ā€œWe must recapture the competitiveness, pride and unified support upon which this proud program has been built for decades.ā€
