Where did you live (on campus) when you were in school?

Freshman (room 709), Sophomore/Junior (room 215) years in Moore Hall

Senior (D201) year in Hunt Village

After these years, don’t know why I still remember the room numbers.

We had this happen quite a few times … I got quite adept at sleeping through the alarm (probably not a good thing).
Seconded. We had more than our share, but I rarely left my room. Of course, being on 2nd floor of Moore helped. Going out the window if needed was a viable option.

Had several friends go this route and they kept select items of value in my room. Thought it really sucked for the school to put students in this position, but there weren’t a lot of options. Hawthorne Hall was brand new during my 4 years.

Which room? That was my floor the same year.

02/03: 515 Moore
03/04: M201 Martin Village
Off campus after that.

Everyone should do the high rises for at least a semester or two. I met some really good friends my freshman year (and still keep in touch with quite a few of them), and it really puts you in a situation where you can make friends quickly, and you wind up doing a lot more stuff on/around campus as a consequence. Word travels fast when you’ve got forty people on a floor.
522 I think it was, lived next door to our RA, Vamsi.

5th Floor Moore first semester (Fall 1993)
Poplar Hall Second Semster (Spring 94’)
Poplar Hall 3rd Semester (Fall 94’)

Then apartment living, my Moore Hall experience was not as great as some of the other peops here, once a week we would have fire alarms, and inevitably it would be after a hard night’s drinking. It sucked to stand out in the freezing cold for an hour hung over

03-04: Hawthorn- 3rd floor (don’t remember the number but it was directly behind the elevator)
04-05: Martin village- H203 I think
05-08: Campus Edge- 1246 beside the pool and sand volleyball court

05-06 Holshouser
06-07 Smurf Village
07 summer Martin Village
08-09 Oak
09-10 Phase 3

06-07 Binford Hall 3rd Floor (Guilford College)
07 Fall- Phillip-Hawkins 3rd Floor (UNCG)
08 Spring - Moore-Strong 2nd Floor (technically still the other, but moved into my now-wife’s dorm room at UNCG)
08-10 Off-campus (got engaged, etc.- Charlotte)

3 Schools in 4 Years, and Charlotte is my favorite- no question at all. I bleed green and love my Niners.

Elm Hall

Witherspoon was a phenomenal place to be a freshman. You had Honors students, Internationals, General Population, Upperclassman, and the Basketball team. Wouldn’t trade my time there for anything.
You’re right. I spent two years in that place (always be Poplar to me), and the mix of people there was great. I loved it and spent a lot of time on every floor, but actually lived on the 3rd and the 2nd. Hell, it was the only reason I even applied to University Honors my freshman year of 96, just because I knew it would allow me to live in that building and not in the highrises. Quit honors when I was done with living there :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like we had a good group in Moore 02/03 … I was 1111 next door to our RA that year…right down the hall from the dude who jumped…

07-08: Cypress (Now Lynch)
08-09: Squires (Now Laurel)
09-11: Moved off campus to Colonial Grand at Mallard Creek

1972 - Moore
1973 - Dorm 72 (After which was named Holshauser?), first year opened, 11th floor facing west and downtown. Saw a lot of nice sunsets. Elevators didn’t work until October! Good thing I was young.

I did 2 years at Colville II but my roommates graduated so I did my last semester in Smurf Village.
I moved in to Smurf in the fall of 94 with three sophomores I didn’t know. I was 23. It took them 12 minutes to ask me if I would buy them beer.

07-08 Lynch Hall (it was Cypress when I was there)
08-10 9216 Campus Edge
10-11 House in the Mallard Creek area

98-99 Cedar
99-00 Martin Village
00-02 Apt at Mallard Creek
