I’ve been following this team since 2003. I know how it was when we were winning big games.
But one thing I don’t get is how are we suppose to be really good this year if we all watched the team play last season.
The only difference from last year:
Leemire: -18.6 PPG, -4.4 REB, -1.7 AST
Gerrity: -4.7PPG, -1.5 REB, -3.5 AST
The rest of team are basically averaging the same numbers as last year.
We lost two very important contributors and gained none in the process.
We also couldn’t score last year so how are we supposed to miraculously do it this year? Leemire has bailed us out so many times last year with his 20 and 30 point performances.
So how is all of this Lutz’s fault?
I don’t like the way this season is going either but things happen.
All I know is, things will be back to where it once was, barring any other major setbacks.
I’m going to continue to go to every game and support the Niners even during these tough times. Because that’s what a true fan does. :49ers:
I remember there was a time a few years ago where we didn’t do anything but chuck 3s. Everyone was pissed off about it. We now go inside a lot this year because we have no shooters. How is that not adapting?

Uh, one of the people that was so confident before the season started was Lutz. He was saying that he felt he had a team that could finish in the top 4 of the A-10. So ask him why he felt that way knowing we were losing Lee, and his 18 ppg.

I did too before all the injuries. I don’t think he thought Mack wasn’t going to underachieve this year. Or Gerrity would just leave out of nowhere. Nobody stepped up this year. Every team needs at least one player to bring it every night. We don’t have that.

I guess I thought you were asking why anyone would expect more from this team prior to the beginning of the season. During the season, we can all see why we are not successful (the various reasons are debateable).

All of the sudden? Where have you been? It lightened up a bit past year but the fire Lutz talk has been going pretty strong for years.
I know there’s been anti-Lutz people on here, but now its taking on a bandwagon effect. We do good everybody is fine. Now that unforeseen things happened to this years team, everyone is calling for his head.
What expectations are low? I expect us to be ranked and winning over 20 games a year. Also make a long run in the tournament. That’s what I expect coming up barring any other unforeseen things happening.

What were your expectations for prior seasons then? I am asking because under Lutz we have never made a deep run in the tournament. Plus, we have not been to the tournament since 2004-2005 season, and have not made it to the second round since the 2000-2001 season.

Are you kidding me? No offense but have you been watching this team? I am very reserved about making a statement for or against a coach, but there is no way he is doing his job. The players we do have aren't developing. With the players we do have we should have been able to do more this year. When we lose he makes these pitiful excuses or statements instead of being mad.
There is too much for me to get into right now about Bobby’s poor performance, but I’m surprised you would claim it’s come up all of a sudden and that it’s because of unforeseen things.

I expected around the same record as last year. I knew we wouldn’t be as good as last year when I heard about bowden getting hurt and Spears not being able to play.

Who did you think was going to develop so rapidly after one season? Phil, An’Juan, Dijuan, and Coley have developed since last year. And you all are forgetting that last year was everyone’s first year together.

Phil and Harris I can agree with. Everyone else I don't think so. Wilderness has been hurt tho so it's hard to say.

That’s I’m saying, he’s doing what he’s suppose to be doing its just he’s in a difficult situation. This team is very young and will be younger next year.

No he's not. How is two players developing acceptable? I think Ian Andersen may have gotten worse. And we still can't hit free throws. We can't do anything. What the hell are we doing in practice? Guys getting hurt doesn't mean somehow we shouldn't be able to do anything right.
The good news here is you’ve thrown out about every lame excuse we all hear in 1 post. I wouldn’t even know where to start to disagree with you so I won’t even bother. You,like everyone here are absolutely entitled to your opinion…I do take offense at your implication that people who criticize the coach or are unhappy with the team’s performance are not “real fans”…We’ve heard quite a bit of that on the board.Personally,I go to just about every game, and I ache when we play like we have in recent times…I just have the foolish idea that sometimes speaking out and voicing the opinion that your coach is doing a very subpar job is the right thing to do! Difference of opinion I guess.

Honestly, when you saw Ian play last year did you really think he would improve that much?
