every small institution south of the Mason Dixon Line is represented in our administration, BUT NO NINERS.
Isn’t that odd? If you went to USC, UNC, UVA, or even App…aren’t there alumni in their athletic administrations?
We had one at one time, but he left.
Even you cheerleaders who dislike my questions/opinions should ponder if this is good for our program both short term and long. Personally, I think it is unethical.
Good question Metro. It is ironic that there are no Niners on our staff. I have seen at many other schools a large part of the staff be alumni from that university. Ironically our biggest staff alumni is Bobby. Not sure it’s unethical but it is strange.

It does appear that there would be a few more homers around, but how many schools have an alumni as coach?
Well, we are the only C-USA mens b-ball team with an alumnus at the helm.
It’s an odd situation all around…none if makes sense to me either way. My only real big problem with Judy is the move to the A-10 which I still don’t like because of what I think it does to our football chances which are already weak. Metro makes good points.
Actually, if Charlotte does reinstate football after 50+ years without it, then the A-10 makes a lot of sense. Assuming we would start out at the D-1AA level, not a bad conference to do it in.

Interesting comments about A-10 Football. I did not realize that is an option. Some friends of mine with a solid background in sports at the NCAA and professional level have recently stated its amazing Charlotte does not have football. I think the university will be in a transitional mode for the next few years with a new chancellor and a new conference. We may see some changes in the program (in the area of adding sports). I think the current administration has done an outstanding job …and will continue to do so for a while. The fact that coach Lutz is a Charlotte graduate … several of his assistants are Charlotte graduates is positive. One of the assistants may eventually move up to the top spot. I graduated in the 70`s and all I can say is we have an awsome program to what we had when we first got in the door of division one play. I think we owe credit to our administration, coaches, but most of all our players like Cedric Maxwell who exceeded expectations. I think 10 years from now we will look at the program and say wow. If alums get behind the program and put money on the table (example join the foundation) it will take us far. I dont think nasty posts and backstabbing comments do much for the program. We do much better to invest in the program with dollars and attendance at events …and support our university whenever possible.
