i agree, we are a big time school. what i meant to say was that i was suprised that a school like mercer is in there instead of an indiana, fsu, or ole miss. if he commits you know we can expect the comments of “congradulations on beating out basketball powers usf and mercer for a recruit”.
If Clayton comes here and is a solid player I could care less who people want to say we beat out for him.
Precisely.
It would be sweet to say that we got the 2 guys that the coaching staff targeted very early in the recruiting process. Would be a huge win for us.
I really like everything I read about Clayton. Hope to see you as a 49er, Willie!
do you all really think he reads all this stuff?
Willie just tweeted to Mayfield that he will be at a few of our games this year… pretty sure that wouldnt happen if he was planning on committing to Mercer…
Clayton would be yet another stellar four year kid that could bring big things to campus. If he commits, then we’ve got a really solid core between the '11 and '12 classes.

I feel pretty good about our chances with Clayton and think he and our other new comers can get us to the top of the A10 and back in the tournament.
The posts underneath this story are exactly the type of fans that I could care less if they come or not. They are ignorant to the whole situation with Willie Clayton and still want to run Major and co. down on the job they are doing on the recruiting trail, imho they are doing a good job.
If you’re ever in Macon (presumably on the way to Savannah): Lemongrass Thai Bistro. Don’t let the spartan seating arrangements deter you. Awesome food.
Duane Allman and Berry Oakley are buried in Macon’s Rose Hill Cemetery and the Allman’s Big House museum is in town for all of you grew up during the 70’s.
