willie. i really don’t care how many posts i have. or actually, how many ‘hits’ you have on this site. i just want you to know how much luv is waiting for you up here!
what i really care about is that you have an eye-opening visit come the 24th.
RT @willieclayton21 just got home from tampa!! I was at usf visiting their campus!!!
i hope i’m reading that correctly…nice, but not blown away.
august 24th. perfect! lots of sunshine outside so the talent will be on display.
major welcomes mr. clayton–a budding legend.
shawn decides this is going to be a pretty good gig too, so he snags a ride as well!
arrives tonight for his visit and will be here tomorrow (along with Lester).
Told me the visit went great, trying to find out if he has other visits planned.
Willie tweeted: “I just landed in tallahassee from charlotte!! I enjoyed myself at charlotte this weekend!!”
and in a tweet to e vic said: “man i enjoyed myself hanging with you and the guys. yall are funny!!!”
okay, mr. clayton. we got you another play-maker. it’s your turn.
willieclayton21 willie clayton
@LivingLegend_3 my boy coach told me the news!!!
Alright, Willie, let’s make it two days in a row. You know you want to be a Charlotte 49er and play alongside E Vic.
Now the deal is even sweeter with the high flyin’, dunktastic, straight shootin’ and smooth handlin’ Lester.
Make this the best August 31st for Charlotte 49ers fans until 2013!
i’m backing off.
i would love to watch mr. clayton in green; but i’m sure by now, willie is aware of where he stands with us.
so…
i’m hoping that he sees the type of guys we have (on & off the court), the type of guys we are going after–and getting! (on & off the court), the coaches’ philosophy (bb & otherwise), our academic environment, the physical campus, the larger community and its opportunities (immediate and down-the-road for him).
i’m also confident that during his visit, he picked up on the unusually dense population of very talented young ladies CHARLOTTE just naturally keeps on attracting!!!
soooooo…
think about it. take your time. talk to a lot of people.
then pick up the phone and call Coach Major.
we’d love to have you!
As per the latest Rivals article, Clayton will make his desision on the 1st of October.
It’s between us, South Florida and Mercer.
Clayton has a leader, but he is keeping it a secret.
Come to Charlotte big Willie
The beach is tough competition, but competitors want to win. I think we’re closer to being a winner than USF
Taking his time and making a lot of visits is a smart thing to do. Hope he picks us, wish him well if he doesn’t.
somebody correct me if im wrong. doesnt he have offers from schools like memphis, fsu, ole miss and a few other big ones? im glad we are in his final three but im wondering why more big schools didnt make his final list. do you think he is sticking to those who made him a priority, if so then that doesnt explain usf who just offered him recently. i hope we get him but his level of recruitiment is a bit unclear.
Charlotte is a big a time school! ;D

His final four were Charlotte, Depaul, Mercer, and Colorado.
Lot of reasons a guy trims off “big time” schools, but primary reason Charlotte made the cut is EVN and what EVN has been telling him about Charlotte program under Major. Not sure about FSU offer, although he has been on campus. Ole Miss definitely wanted a shot at him, but a lot of smart guys look at the lay of the land and figure out where it makes most sense. For Clayton it appears Charlotte and USF have done the most.
i ain’t sayin’ nothin else. ;D
