Charlotte (17-4) moved into the rankings at No. 23 after five wins in its last six games, the only loss at East Carolina. The 49ers’ other losses were to Rutgers, Alabama in triple overtime and Cincinnati.
The last time Charlotte was ranked came in the final week of the 1998-99 season when it was 24th.
Let’s just hope that past trends don’t continue with us choking after getting ranked. Not that it would be a choke against DePaul because they’re a solid team but we REALLY need to win this game and prove our ranking.

Lose either game this week and we're out. But win and we could break the top 20, Maryland is terribly inconsistent(22 right now), Oklahoma is going down fast and a few of the 15-20 teams could fall below us with a loss. Big week.
