I would call that average for those two years at best. Good teams make the NCAA tourney. The ones that arenât good donât.
agreed. 19 wins is not a successful year at charlotte.
the link isnt working.
our starting lineup at the beginning of the year will most likely resemble last years team, with the exception of kj sherrill starting at power forward. we have a bunch of talented, athletic newcomers and i would except at least one of them(nickerson and maybe henry) to be starting by midyear. we are a bit thin inside but still have braswell, who can be a load and will be even tougher to guard if he can play power forward a little more. we will actually be able to press teams, go with a variety of lineups and defend teams for forty minutes. none of these things possible last season.

Fixed the link.
I think we may have a new starter at both guards at the beginning of the year.
what makes you say that? i worry that he could lose the team if he benches derrio and deuce to start the season.
Morrow attracted a lot of help defense off our shooters last year, so a guy like Bowden could have a big year. Young played hurt all year off the bench and Wynn was never a factor. In those spots we got a transfer PG from Missouri and a big man from S. Carolina I expect fill those voids and probably improve them.
We return 3 starters but the only sure bets to start IMO are Morrow at center and the Missouri transfer at PG. I think the 4 guys form our top 7 last year from last year and 4 transfers are probably our top 8 roatation. We return 2 wing starters so I expect Bowden to come off the bench and if he doesnât embrace the role (he did in JUCO and was 2nd team all conf off the bench) we have both Roberts Campbell and a Serbian 3 point shooter Im not counting in the top 8, so heâs replaceable.
How about about you guys. Seems your biggest question mark from an outsider is PG and possibly starting a freshman there. Sounds like you have talented newcomers but they are all young and it will probably time. You guys playing any overseas trips this summer.
I think this about sums it up:
Yeah lets bench our top 2 scorers and an experienced backcourt and start 2 players who have none.
Better yet lets start 5 freshman and call them the FAB FIVE :))

I just love how you say that as if they were efficient scorers. Iâm not saying they will be benched, but only Braswellâs starting position is a lock.

No starting positions should be locked on a team that finished last in the league. They all should be earned. (Especially Braz) He had 75 toâs from the 4/5 position which does not even handle the ball much. Which means his possesion to turnover ratio is THE WORST ON THE TEAM.
I hope no one has a spot locked up. After the season we had last year, they better be busting their ass to be better all around. We were not a good team, period. 2 things can help us get better, returning players working to get better and incoming talent. I hope that we have both.

Maybe heâll be the next Hassan Whiteside. Who knows. I wouldnât bet on that though. Most big guys take a couple years.
To me, this is Braswellâs make or break season. If he does not have an expanded offensive game by this year, he never will.
Iâm kind of wondering how all these guards are going to fit in for playing time. And we really donât have someone who matches well at 5.
Iâm thinking Derrio will start at PG unless Deuce gets a lot better on his turnovers. That would push Deuce to the number 2 or on a smaller rotation at PG.
Iâm excited about what Demario can do. Iâve heard some people from GA talk about how he is supposed to be nasty. They refer to him as DayDay or DeeDee or something like that.
I would like to see EVic at least on a heavy rotation at the 3 and Iâm guessing JB would start.
What about at the 4 and 5? Iâm not sure who will start at Center. Most of our players are too undersized or underdeveloped to be match up real well. Braz is a little smaller than most Centers and he is better at the PF position. Thorne is underdeveloped and he is honestly not 6â10". Maybe 6â8ââ on a good day.
I guess KJ might rotate with EVic at 4 as well? From all accounts EVic can fit in almost anywhere.
We still have to see what Terrance Williams and Luka can do. Would both of these rotate at SG? What if Luka gets some minutes at PG and competes with Derrio and Deuce?
It looks like there will be some competition for starting spots, which is good in our case.
There isnât really a clear rotation or starting lineup that I can see, but again Iâm a noob.
THIS
the memphis commercial appeal reports that charlotte will play memphis at fedex forum this season. no mention of any games beyond that one.
Itâs on bitches
Pastner said he expects to fill one of the three remaining home openings on the schedule with Atlantic 10-member Charlotte, adding that the paperwork still needs to be finalized. The 49ers finished 10-20 last season.âThereâs still some balls juggling around with the final two (home opponents), but we almost have it completed,â Pastner said.

I thought they only juggled balls in Chapel Hill.
I donât give a damn who plays. It says Charlotte on the front of the uni- that is all I care about.
I will say this, if after going 10-20 (or whatever it was) anybody that feels safe is pretty fâing stupid.
And someone mentioned that if Duece or Green gets benched we may lose the team. Who cares? If we have better players let them leave. It canât get much worse.
Still with the 6BC thing I see. lol
Damn hootie the defeatist attitude is strong in you.
Donât knee jerk to this statement, but these were the reasons that we struggled last year:
- Lack of Depth
- No true 5 man or PG
- Lack of Depth
- Major chemistry issues - aka shamari
- Lack of Depth
- New coach, new system, not everyone buying inâ
- Lack of Depth
- Talent level was weaker than we expect
Did I mention the depth problems we had?
Do not forget, this team, despite all of the issues above, appeared to right itself and was playing pretty decent basketball around the time of the Tennessee game. We also beat Ga Tech on the road. We looked liked a .500 or so team, maybe even a tad better with some luck. Then Phil flunked out and the camelâs back broke and the wheels finally came off completely.
Which of the above have we not addressed? The 5 is probably the only glaring issue we have - we added a journeyman (5 fouls, good size) and a long term project with promising upside, instead of a ready to start player. Weâve gone from having no true PGs to having at least 2. We subtracted a headcase and replaced him with guys willing to play for THIS coach. In every way other than the 5, it is impossible to say that this team isnât better equipped to win. Now they just have to do it. I expect there will be a lot to work through in the early season with so many new pieces, but I daresay I do not expect conference play to be a repeat of last season. If it is, then the Coach Major haters have their victory and they can commence to roasting him alive. But on paper, heâs done at least a B+ job of addressing the issues that plagued us last year. We are bigger, more athletic, deeper, and the resumes of some of the new guys suggest leadership skills and great work ethics. Thatâs something you can definitely build on.
PS - Bring on Mempiss!!! I canât wait.
