Well, the carousel is still spinning!
Probably looking at an opening at CofC. A 50-page report can’t be good!

This will put a damper on the Charleston Classic Tournament this year. I think the visiting teams draw a pretty good crowd, but CofC may not fill it up unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat with a hire at this late. Aw hell, I’ll go ahead and say it. Bobby Lutz.

Yup - they haven’t played in this tourny in quite some time.

I didn’t realize that. I know ESPN is producing it to draw aTV audience but CofC is kind of getting screwed like we did with the Pepsi Challenge. I hope they get things back on track soon.

Huge difference. We had no control over the ToC. This tourny though is played at TD arena, owned and operated by the CoC. If they wanted it to end they could. They are making $ on this thing. The ToC just screwed us except when we screwed them and won it.
Latest on CofC scandal.
ESPN.com: Doug Wojcik not planning to resign
Postandcourier.com: College of Charleston President Glenn McConnell will be ‘very thorough’ with Coach Wojcik decision
BTW, CofC Cougars were in inaugural Charleston Classic in 2008 and again in 2012.
CofC really dragging this out.

Postandcourier.com: Sapakoff: College of Charleston should pay Wojcik and move on, even if it costs $1.2 million
Per CBSSports.com, Mississippi Valley State hires Andre Payne of Wiley College, an NAIA school in Texas.
The whole CofC thing a real head scratcher. First Wojcik can’t recruit, now he can. Some of the players want him gone, while some want him to stay. Gotta feeling this won’t end well for the Cougars.
Just keeps getting more bizarre.

Postandcourier.com: College of Charleston Presient Glenn McConnell orders second investigation of Coach Doug Wojcik
I don’t see how Wojcik stays after a 2nd investigation is needed.

The story that just keeps on giving…
Lutz a candidate for CofC job.
Postandcourier.com: Former Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz interviews for College of Charleston job; Anthony Johnson next
Apparently there’s an idea floating around to bring Cremins back for a year and have CofC grad Anthony Johnson basically serve an apprenticeship for a season and then take over in 2015. Hmmm…
ESPN.com: Charleston is considering bringing Bobby Cremins back as its coach
Bringing Cremins back for a year doesn’t speak highly for the candidates.
Bringing Cremins back for a year doesn’t speak highly for the candidates.
I would say it doesn’t speaking highly of the search committee. Made a good decision on the final candidates then got cold feet due to favorite son Anthony Johnson’s lack of coaching experience.
CofC has looked pretty bad throughout this whole affair, first with dragging out Wojcik’s termination, and now with the hairbrained idea of having Cremins return for a season.
Others feel the same way as well.
Postandcourier.com: Sapakoff: Bobby Cremins was a great idea for the College of Charleston, back in 2006
This is becoming stranger and stranger…
