Well if it doesn’t have to be college hoops there are the Harbaugh’s–Jim and John. If you want college hoops then there are Bobby and Dan Hurley, but it may be too soon to determine if they are successful.

Bill had a good thing going at Drexel - 167-71 over 8 seasons, including 3 NCAAs and 1 NIT - prior to being hired by ECU in 1999. Since leaving Philly, his collective 15 seasons at ECU and New Hampshire have produced no winning seasons (there was one .500 season in Greenville) and no postseason appearances.
While Tom never had a losing season at Charleston - followed by two winners, then two losers at Marshall - none of his teams made the Big Dance.
And speaking of CofC, Herrion was replaced by Doug Wojcik, whose brother Dave just finished his first season as a head coach at San Jose State. Anyway, Doug’s resume at Tulsa (140-92 over 7 seasons) produced no trips to the NCAAs, which he has replicated in Charleston. Hmmm…
Finally, I will agree that it’s probably too early to make any judgment on the Hurley brothers, though I’m sure Dan probably didn’t figure the rebuilding job at URI to be as massive as it’s turned out to be. He can thank Jim Baron for that, of course.
Herrion was hot stuff when we hired him. He was young, upset Memphis in the NCAA tourny, and had like the 7th highest active winning percentage in the NCAA. He had been linked with several Big East jobs as well. I still thought firing Joe Dooley was stupid but it was hard arguing with bringing in Herrion at the time. Dooley had the All CAA POY by Sports Illistrated who had been hurt the last 10 games or so of that year which was a big reason why we had a 13-14 season, and had him returning and a couple of top 100 guys signed. Even had David West committed when we fired him. Same inept AD Hamrick that’s at Marshall now and hired Tom Herrion, fired him and hired fake Dantoni.
His tenure was a lot like Herrions at Marshall, disaster from the start with players that didn’t like him. I remember Sports Illistrated had us projected to the NCAA’s his first year and said something like Herrion with Dooley’s talent = NCAA’s, and we won 10 games. He even said he didn’t like recruiting and it’s pretty much shown since. He could get away with it at a Philly school beating up on the New Hampshires and Vermonts of the world back then. Lot harder to sell enough Mike Cooks to come to Greenville or New Hampshire from Philly and stay. About as well thought out as this Hamrick hire.
Mizzou looks to another Anderson to get the job done in Columbia. Of course, I’m old enough to remember what happened when the 49ers hired a coach whose resume also included a DII championship as well! Unlike our guy, though, the Tigers are getting an alum/former player who also served as an assistant under Norm Stewart prior to spending the past dozen seasons at Central Mizzou.

Couple of items per CBSSports.com: Marist coach Jeff Bower resigns to take GM position with Detroit Pistons and Samford close to firing Bennie Seltzer. Former spent just one season in the Hudson Valley, while the latter has had 14 players transfer out during his two season in Birmingham, including 2014 SoCon Freshman of the Year Isaiah Williams.
Bulldogs promote assistant (and former Kentucky and NBA player) Scott Padgett to replace the ousted Seltzer.

AP per ESPN reporting that Marist has hired Mike Maker. He led Williams College to the D-III Final Four 3 times during his 6 seasons at the exclusive private Massachusetts school and has 17 years experience as an assistant at the D-I level, including Creighton and West Virginia.
