I skipped an exam and was prepared to rage all night after having such a big half time leadā¦effin Julius Hodge
2023 is coming fast, and with us struggling against inferior programs in basketball, and an FCS level defense in football, I am scared about our jump to the AAC, we are not ready, we were invited based upon the city that our school is located in, we did not earn the invite on the field or court, we better reassess and evaluate our current coaching staffs in football and basketball, and make the necessary changes now, we are not ready to meet the challenges in our current conference, so what is it going to be like when we move up to the AAC
If it wasnāt for tailgating with old friends at football I would honestly just cut ties and disappear from this program.
The only way we can redeem ourselves is to beat Davidson and Wake Forest like we did last year with less talent. But The possibility of that is looking pretty dismal at the moment
I have beaten dog syndrome. Just donāt want to put up with this shit anymore.
Hell if weāre being honest we got a damn good coach stolen right under our noses by a school in the middle of poor ass Eastern North Carolina. Iām tired of trying to polish this turd
My twins were born in 2005 and I have been waiting to immerse them in the Niner baptismal for so long now. Ii was hoping this year would be different. Now I just tell them to pull fir whoever they want and pick up the one off tee shirt at Christmas. Sad state of affairs. It would have been hard to do to this program on purpose what has happened in the last 16 years. Our younger fans do not even know what a good BB Coach looks and sounds like.
This⦠you couldnāt script the destruction of a basketball program any better.
We are 2 baskets away from being 1-4 on a must win season for our Coach. Jeez!!
That was the game that did it! I was living in Manhattan at the time, and took off work early to watch the game with other Niner roommates. After that game, we never recovered.
Good luck with that ol hickory
I rarely missed a home game since 1993 until Major last season at the helm when I decided to not renew tickets until changes were done. I still watched games online until this year as I was excited about this team. So far 3 of the players I was looking forward to watching have not even seen the floor and we are showing the same habits of prior teams under Sanchez. I may attend a couple more home games this year, but I will go back to being a couch supporter until something changes.

I think this roster is Sanchezās ceiling. I didnāt get to watch either game but Iām for some odd crazy reason thinking this team could eventually click and make a long winning streak. Damn Sanchez.

Year 4 of the Sanchez experiment. We lose to Drexel and Toledo on a neutral court. We know what we got at this point and if losing to Drexel and Toledo in year 4 was the point, then I missed the boat. Mike Hill hired a guy who looked good on paper. Iām tired of those hires. Go get someone whoās proven they can win.
We canāt compete in either basketball or football with CUSA teams. We arenāt able to compete in basketball (and possibly football) in much lower conference teams. Thus, the question: Why do we want to be in the AAC and simply be the team everyone schedules for their homecoming game knowing they can beat us. If we canāt be competitive, we need to look at other alternatives (be independent and play all the big dogs and get paid for it, go back to a lower level and try to compete with the Gardner Webbās, etc.)
Iām so embarrassed to be a Niner right now, I had to change my profile pic. No longer can I have the Charlotte flag.
I have said this every year recently. Donāt redshirt anyone unless they literally canāt play all season due to energy. We need every possible body to increase our chances in every game. We need to win NOW! Iām more done with RS than I am WH. Atleast WH has a personality and gets us some attention.
FWIW, looking over conference NET rankings for last season per Niners, Toledo, and Drexel:
#14 C-USA
#15 MAC
#16 CAA
Not saying that the losses today and yesterday are okay, but they werenāt to much lower conference teams. C-USA 3.0/4.0 is what it is - a middle of the pack group when it comes to MBB.
This is disappointing, but was probably predictable given the first few games. Still, lowers my hope for a run later in the season.
I donāt think Davidson and Wake matter all that much in the end. If we beat them, but crap the bed in conference and end of season, then Iām guessing weāre hiring a new coach. If we lose, but do really well in conference and make a run at the end of the season of some kind (especially if we win the conference tournament), then he probably gets more time. Still want to see wins, just donāt think Sanchezā job relies on that very much.
We were unlikely to get an at-large anyway, but Iām really hoping the move to the AAC changes that potential, and makes these earlier season games matter a lot more.
