Boj - you need to get your nose out of bobs ass. He blew it today. Actually blew it last week with the rotation for uncw. That started what we saw today. You always have to win your first game. To not start your number 1 is retarded at best. Pissed for theses guys. They deserve better after working their ass’s off all season. By getting down early that caused our guys to press at the plate. Pretty easy to figure out. No coach is perfect, but today was unacceptable.

I don’t think it mattered who we threw today, they held us to 2 runs and we’re not going to win many when that happens. Hopefully we get the bats going tomorrow, we can still make a run.
That said today did suck.

I think it’s quite likely that Coach knows his staff a little better than you do,
Sometimes even the right move turns out to be the wrong move.
BTW, I note that East Carolina was top seeded in their conference tournament and lost by 10 runs in their opener. I guess their coach is retarded as well.

No comparison in coaches. It can happen to any team, but Tyler Smith is a senior and regular starter. Spencer has thrown great, but you still go with your best pitcher come tournament time.
Holding back your ace is a strategy often used. Sometimes it backfires. That said 2 runs won’t win you many games

I don’t think it as drastic as a decision as you are making it out to be. Our starting pitching has been inconsistent down the stretch. Just look at last weekend. It was a coin flip decision for me.
In hindsight, Giesting did fine. The game was 4-2 when he left. He only gave up 3 earned. That shouldn’t be too much to overcome for a team that averages 7 runs a game.
