Maybe they were dropping him into coverage because he wasnāt getting to the QB. He was not getting into any action on most plays. He is coming back because, otherwise, he would be looking for a non-football job. He is probably a great kid, but he was billed as the next man up after Alex, who was billed as the next man up after Larry. Its ok with me Watts is coming back, but unless he was playing injured all year, I expect ok to be his ceiling.
Although overshadowed by the terrible defense the offensive play calling was bad for much of the season. We lost the GA State game and likely the Illinois game because of the lack of creativity on the offensive side of the ball. If we want to get better next season the offensive staff needs a reboot also.

He needs to. The entire defensive staff needs to be rebuilt. Braithwaite is the only one i would even consider keeping & thatās because heās only been there a year so we donāt know much about him.

Thatās a start, but heads need to roll at the top level positions on the defensive side. True leaders seek beyond the low hanging fruit. Iām not going to get too upset as I think more is coming. #thesunwillcomeuptomorrow

Healy should have fun trying to sell that one to the fanbase.
That whole co-DC thing was weird. Going to make the discussion that much tougher.
I would say that I expected West to be replaced too.
I am sure these are all great people and good friends of Healy, but this is a results business. It sucks more for assistants because they donāt make the big $.
If defensive players are quitting during the game and defensive players quit and then are talked back and you are giving up 50 a game then something more than a couple of DB assistants needs to change. If nothing but for the perception alone.

The cuts have to be made up the ladder. The assistants arenāt the problem. Healy has to get some thick skin and get rid of his friends.
