Bakich was making north of $750K in his final season at Michigan. By comparison, former Clemson coach Monte Lee was making $500K in his final season with the Tigers. Sources told D1Baseball a couple of weeks ago that Clemson was more than willing to spend north of seven figures if the right candidate surfaced. Bakich is expected to make seven figures in short order as part of his deal.
That’s a good hire for Clemson and a smart move for Bakich. Big Ten football is a non-starter despite how much the college baseball media tries to make it a thing.
I must say, the Regionals and Supers were much more fun to watch than the 2 Omaha brackets. Best of 3 for the title starts tomorrow. Looking forward to a good series.
