McGowan got $300k in the 18th round!! Each team has a bonus pool that they have to manage during the draft. He and the Rockies were negotiating all during the draft and they finally agreed to that # late in the game. Lots of moving parts in the draft and its almost too much to keep up with.
I wish they would do away with over/ under slot $$ payments and allow trades instead.

Congrats. Will miss these guys. I’m not a huge baseball fan, but these guys kept me tuning in this last season.

McCabe is probably a big under slot signing for the Braves. Could work in our favor if too low a number.
The way the draft works now, 99% of the guys drafted today will sign. They’ve already negotiated their bonus and once they agree to it, they get selected. The only exception is someone drafted by the Mets.

Yeah. The under slot guys usually negotiate the hardest right up to the moment of signing. Their leverage is usually a little less. Good luck to McCabe either way.

I am guessing it’s really risky to come back as a SP, but he was so good for us this season. Another dominant season and couldn’t he go around where McCabe and Furman went and basically quintuple his money?.
