We’ll only have one more season to enjoy from Cam.
Goose has signed with the D-Backs.
McKeithan promoted from Low A Palm Beach to High A Peoria today !
On the way up
Why was Furman’s money so low? And less than 11th rd Giesting. Picked 1st of the 3 and got paid the least. How does that math work?
What the team doesn’t spend in the slot they can use elsewhere. My guess is it was prenegotiated.
4 (125): David McCabe, 3B, UNC Charlotte – $476,400 (Pick value: $478,900)
McCabe was taken as a third baseman despite playing just nine games at this position during his college career. The universal designated hitter should enhance this switch-hitting slugger’s bid to reach the Majors.https://www.mlb.com/braves/news/braves-2022-draft-signings-tracker?t=mlb-draft-coverage
They make pre draft deal to take a player for less thqn the slot, or take a chance on getting drafted in a later round.
Yes. The whole draft is pretty much an ongoing negotiation. Once both parties agree, then the team pulls the trigger in most cases. In some cases, teams draft the player without an agreement in hopes of coming to an agreement and risk them not signing. Goose negotiated after being drafted.
Andrew Vail, a grad transfer that we signed from Mizzou was drafted in the 20th Rd and he signed for $150k. I had forgotten about him.
McKeithan with his first High A homer tonight !

19 new faces…wow !
Lost 14 to graduation/draft/portal.
lost some big pieces for sure, but looks like we return plenty of pitching, 6 infielders and outfielders that saw a lot of playing time. If AK returns to form, I think we’ll be fine. Just not sure how good we’ll be.
