BS ending. Donāt call that foul In that situation and then running the clock on a made free throw. Both were horrible. The guys fought hard like they always do but we have to quit having those spurts where we let the other team go on big runs. We arenāt built to have to come back from 13 points

Hill goes probably first (just my guess), there is no way anyone is going to let him go out and hire another Coach for one of the primary programs (bball & football) at this new FBS level (AAC)ā¦.

So you are not okay with the new FB hire? What about the baseball hire and the softball hire? Sanchez was a home run on paper and top assistant in the country. Just not working out.

Itās a pattern. Is it a symptom of the Sanchez defensive and offensive systems? Seems more likely to be that than the referees being out to get a reserved basketball coach. Sanchez teams mostly seem to win or lose tight games, and that leaves little margin available to overcome high school refās
I think heās stating Sanchez was a terrible coach who got extended for losing. That Healy was a terrible coach who got raise for going 6-7 with the players of the previous coach. Biff hasnāt yet won or lost a game. Baseball and softball are homeruns, but basketball and football, our primary identity sports, have been bare feet stepping into soft, warm dog turds. If the Niners donāt win 18 games this season Mike canāt say āwe moving in the right directionā. The team only won 17 games last season. Maybe he can make the case if he counts close losses as moral victories.
Iād hope Mike has a bit more intelligence than that - the biggest thing an AD/owner in sports can do to piss off a fan base is insult their intelligence. Our eyes donāt lie. The worst thing you can do is not admit the mistake. We made a mistake. Iāll respect Hill if he accepts it and moves on. The only way Iād even consider bringing Ron back at this point is a NCAA Tournament appearance and even then Iād still be skeptical.

One bad decision or call does not account for a loss but I donāt understand why Sanchez leaves a timeout in his back pocket at the end of last nights game? It doesnāt carry over to the next game. Only thing I can think of is he thought maybe out of a hectic scramble that charlotte already had something prepared and the best chance to score. Also, if Rice wanted to put a better defensive player in then they would have on the free throw make. Charlotte didnāt completely look organized on that last play so why not draw something up. I get it that a timeout can help with a 5 second call but at worst we would just throw it deep like we did.
I was assuming we didnāt have a timeout. With the 1.1 second runoff and if a single coach spots it, you have to take the timeout to try and get the clock set straight.

Iām thinking you in bound to half court and immediately call your timeout. Then you have an easier inbounds play. Those full court inbounds under 3 seconds are almost never successful. Without the clocks issues you could have had 2 seconds left inbounding on the side of half court.
