2022 49er Football Season 🏈

Hopefully Breaden is more consistent than he was his Senior year at Porter Ridge. He seems to be working on his Kicking a lot in the off-season so hoping it will translate into a good year for him.

Not sure if this was his official Stats last year but Porter Ridge made 38 of 44 XPs and 4 of 9 FGs based on Max Preps.

Here’s how I see it

FAU They generally out talent us. Will be difficult to get a W.
W&M Should win and better be easily
Maryland Their O is too much, will be very difficult to keep up even at home
Ga St This is the 50-50ish game we need to get if want to have a good season (how many years do we say that)
USC Very difficult to keep up with Rattler
UTEP 50-50ish game, like our chances at home though
UAB Will be underdogs there, they’re perennially one of the best teams in CUSA
FIU Should be able to take care of at home
Rice 50-50ish game on the road, another one you almost have to get if want a bowl
WKU Shouldn’t be as explosive as last year but we’ll be underdogs at home.
MT 50-50ish but like our chances there
La Tech I’ll put this in the 50-50ish, I think Holtz was an underrated coach.

I think we have (2) we should win, W&M and FIU
We have (4.5) that will be very difficult to win (FAU, UAB, USC, Maryland) .5 is WKU they lose a lot but are still scary
The remaining (5.5) we should be competitive.

I think we’ll be a bowl bubble team again if we can get any sort of defensive improvement. 3-9 would be a catastrophe but with our O I don’t think it’ll get that bad.

Yeah no way Healy gets fired after this coming year… unless he has zero or maybe 1 win.

FAU went backwards around mid year last season which is normal for Taggert’s teams. Maybe we catch them with some new D since our offense should keep us in the game

I feel like we have a shot in most games we will play. The D is just the big question mark. If it shows up LFG.

I like this assessment.

2 games we should win, 5 games we will likely lose. Then 5 games that will decide our season. We need to win 4 of them to go bowling.

Pretty simple to me:

We will beat Bill & Mary. We will get humbled in the 2nd half if not sooner against our 2 P5 opponents. The rest are coinflips based on location, injuries, momentum, and luck.

Gotta play over .500 ball in CUSA + GSU to bowl.

From walk on to the Manning Passing Academy. Wow! Couldn’t have happened to a better leader.

This upcoming season is the only one so far for me I’m not looking forward to, actually dreading. We’re going to be embarrassingly crushed with this schedule.
Will be sadly interesting what happens in the off season. Gloom and doom. Yeah.

I think we have a tough schedule but I’m not gloom and doom at all. We should once again have a competent offense. The issue will be if we can stop anyone on defense.

I’m looking forward to the football season. I expect us to bowl this season. We have experience on offense and with the coaching changes I think the defense will be much better.

Well the defense certainly can’t be much worse.

Agree. Much more optimistic about this year than last. We were competitive with Illinois on the road last year. Actually should have won. Maryland at home doesn’t strike me as unwinnable. South Carolina on the road will be tough but again not like we have zero chance. The rest are more winnable. Like NN said, the defense certainly can’t be much worse and hopefully is better. The offense will be better. I expect to bowl this year.

I will be at the games if we win or not. I waited so long for us to get football, and I am still appreciative of the product. We have a great quarterback with an exciting offense. We have tailgating. We have our own beer. Hell, even our defense makes games exciting cause you never know what will happen. Enjoy the experience and Go Niners!

All the defense has to be is below average, with this O we don’t need a good D. Our O has a chance to be excellent if Reynolds can stay healthy.

Hope one of our kickers steps up, we can’t afford to lose a game due to special teams with this schedule.

I agree. Go for the experience and hope we finish close to .500 and don’t get blown out against Maryland and SC
