2023-24 49er MBB Game #17 Charlotte @ Rice 1/16 8:00 PM ESPN+

JT is coming off a concussion so thus his limited minutes.
FTs were missed late that hurt. I bet that will be focus next three days in practice

4-1 in the conference. Back to back conference road wins.

Go Niners!!

Agree on all of that. We did leave some wins on the table but agree that he is doing well and team plays hard snd playing good defense. Just saying, no reason to sign fearne now. 0

Their Coach ran right up to the ref screaming at him for a foul. He is a bit of a jerk from what i have seen over the years. I have watched it about 5 times and don’t see any contact to their player. Braswell would have had it clean but it took a funny bounce on the rim and came off to the right.

I don’t fault their coach for running up to scream for a foul…only way they had a chance to tie it was to get the foul. Doesn’t mean it was one.

I’ll take an ugly win everyday over a pretty loss.

Of course NIL money is a huge factor in recruiting, but how current players relate to the coach still counts. If Fearne has a recruit visit campus, I think his current players will give that recruit a favorable view of our coach. FWIW.

Rice’s coach reminds me of a high school guy who is repeatedly confined to his own locker by mean old football players.

This isn’t his 1st coaching job.

I believe DJ is an upgrade from Aly. Not as good of a distributor, but can run the floor, finish at the rim, and defend better than Aly.

Kinda hope they continue to limit his minutes due to the fact that we play better when he’s not on the court.

I agree. Had we kept Brice, I think we might be undefeated in conference at this point. He is the piece we are missing. Braswell is getting there, but Brice could have been that the first game of the season.

I don’t miss Ali, but I do miss Brice.

Aly would have been a better defender down low when Jackson is out. We were getting destroyed under the basket last night when he was taking a rest.

I agree Brice is the bigger missing piece though. This team with Fearne and Brice and Khalifa could have been really really special. The group of guys we have is trying to turn the corner on that themselves. Winning this weekend would go A LONG way.

Depends on the Brice that showed up, the 30 point Brice, or the 5 pt Brice.
I love Brice but he was very inconsistent for many reasons. He is showing the same at Nebraska.

Is he better that Robert, yes. Would we be better with him I’m not sure.

Do you mean the bryce coached by sanchez or the bryce coached by Fearne?

Bryce would be a completely different player underneath Fearne.

I see playing for Ron as being kind of a FindMuck

Maybe. He is under a different coach now and his results are worse than here with exactly the same minutes. Less points, worse shooting percentages, more turnovers.

Again I really like Brice and he may have blossomed more under Fearne but we will never know.

While we’re imagining, what if we still had Jahmir. :fire:

I feel sorry for any offensive minded player theat was coached by Ron. His methodology would just destroy confidence and instincts.

I’ve been following Brice this season and there are still times when his offensive game is off, as illustrated by the last couple of games in which he had 9 pts vs Purdue and 6 vs Iowa. But he did have 11 rebs, 9 asts, 2 blks, and 2 stls in the win over the Boilermakers. Anyway, as I’ve mentioned before, he doesn’t have to be THE guy for the Huskers and typically isn’t as he’s their 3rd leading scorer at 12.8 ppg.

I would love to have Brice back…loved watching Aly but there were parts of his game that were tough/frustrating to watch. I like jackson more if I had to choose between them. I dont think theres a player on the current team i would take over Brice though.
