Have start times been set for the Fall W/S games next week ?
Not that I know of.
We are supposed to host Davidson this Friday at 6:00.

UPDATED: Game pushed to Saturday
Left today after 5 innings and Niners were up 10-0.
Pitching again was spectacular !
Bombs again from Noah Furcht and Carson Bayne and Shane Taylor added one. Familiar look seeing #1 trotting around the bases !
Great play by Spencer Nolan in CF…went up and pulled a HR ball back in the park for a mere triple that didh’t score.

Curious how this fall stacks up against last fall and what expectations do y’all have of this group?
Augh… I’m already here in CLT. Planned to come in for the games this week.

I came in Last night (drove from Texas) to be here all week for the games. Hotel for a week and everything….
Working from hotel but had PTO for wed/thurs games….
Looking forward to family weekend stuff before the game Saturday.
Still awesome to be here to hang with my son and see the area.

I would imagine that intra-squad scrimmages are being conducted several afternoons this week, and they’re open to the public. Since Fall World Series games are intra-squad scrimmages with more game-like structure, there’s little difference between the two. Mr. B (or anyone else), do you happen to know which afternoons scrimmages are scheduled?

I haven’t heard but I would guess that they would likely scrimmage Thursday afternoon, and probably not Friday with the football game going on.

Honestly I haven’t been able to get out to the Hayes as much this fall as I did last year, so I don’t have as much to go on. Thinking back to last fall, we had 6 starters returning in the lineup while this year we have 3 or 4 returning.
We had similar blowout results in the external scrimmages last year. Davidson was a 30 win team last year, and we destroyed them in the 14 innings scrimmage 14-4. Walters St just lost to NC State by 1 run in one of their games last weekend. Not sure how much we can take from that, but seems to be very positive.
I think it is well documented in this thread how much we lost from last years team and we have 30+ new guys coming in to fill the holes. Sounds like many of the guys we have coming in have hit the ground running. The staff has a reputation for bringing in quality classes, so I suspect we have reloaded.
The offense & defense has looked good from what I’ve seen. On the mound I expect Hansen to be our horse, Rossi & Langhorne as strong arms out of the pen. Everything else is TBD.
Hopefully we can do a fall show once the fall season winds down.
