I think our program relies on the same fans for everything. Basketball, Football, Baseball, Softball, Soccer etc - it’s the same people. That is a challenge because one sport failure impacts other sports. In addition, while I am not a baseball fan, I would love to go to more games - but the challenge is after a fall of all football and a winter of a lot of basketball, the spring and summer is typically my break from Niner stuff - saves my marriage. I an make a few games - but thats about it.

My boys play club soccer which occupies a lot of my time during the week (and some weekends) in the spring and fall, and Wednesdays are particularly harsh.
I enjoyed the couple of times we made it out to Truist to watch the guys play. Great ballpark and it’s cool to see us playing there.
Only thing I question in playing Carolina and ECU on back to back nights. Not good for pitching.
Take back one pitch last night and things are different…but thats not happening !
If I lived in town I’d be at tons of baseball games. Love going to the yard.
But living 2 1/2 hrs away limits my trips. I’m coming this weekend weather permitting but I will say not getting at least one of the mid week games dampened my enthusiasm. No pun intended
I truly appreciate you and your support. If I’m not mistaken you were one of the Niners that made the trip to ECU for the Regional. That’s awesome and I wish we had more fans like that. What is not awesome is that we may have had more 49er fans at the Regional ECU game in Greenville than we had in Truist last night.
ECU has a great baseball tradition and I fully expected them to show up last night. I didn’t expect, but I hoped that we would at least hold our own in our own city, but nope. To use a lame expression some on here like to use, our fans PULLED A NINER.
We all know that football moves the needle. Do we support that? NOPE!!! Smallest stadium in FBS and we’ve filled it what, a handful of times in 10 years?
Basketball? ECU has better attendance at basketball games than we do now, with a worse team.
So what are we as a fanbase doing? I’ve almost lost all hope.

Regional was so much fun. I don’t plan to miss another one. Unless we get shipped out to the west coast one day.
We got shipped out to Tempe in ‘11. I was there.

Palumbo is a high quality dude.
There is still time if our guys get hot and finish the year strong. I expect they will. They are a young team and battle hardened. They gotta want it.
Looks like UAB is going with the same rotation as last time down in Birmingham. All 3 were pretty good last series. Blayze pitched a CG for the win and we didn’t get much off the other 2 starters either. We really got to their bullpen though last series.
UAB also picked up another P5 win this week, beating Alabama in a walk-off. After they lost the series to us last time, they went and beat Auburn 2 days later. Glad they got the RPI boost to 195 so we aren’t playing 3 games vs a 200+ RPI team this weekend.

Tried to move on but this is still bothering me.
Was curious so I looked up the attendance numbers for the Uptown games. Just to see how things stacked up.
UNC- USC 6277
ECU-CLT 4678
DAVIDSON -NC STATE 2624
USC-CLT 2161
ASU-QUEENS 1819
What is really sad when I look at this is the thought that App State- Queens game only had 300 or so less fans than our game in our town against a Top 15 team. Queens doesn’t have many fans, so you know the bulk of that crowd were Appies. And I’d be generous to say that USC had 60% of the crowd when we played them. I’m embarrassed to even guess the percentage of CLT vs ECU fans on Wednesday night.
What the hell reasons do App fans have to be excited about baseball?
