Yep…left too many on base in the early innings…more of the same on offense…and nothing done late, AT all…some interesting lineups decisions tonight.

We are now ~1/3 of the way through the season. SO FAR, this might be our most disappointing team/season in any of the major sports, when considering preseason expectations. We would need to win 75% of our remaining games to even be in the at large NCAA discussion.

First LT batter…homerun. 
We finally get some timely hits (5) in the T2 and plate 4 runs. Good guys up 4-1 heading to the B2. UPDATE: 7-3 Niners through 3. Conte has only given up 3 hits so far, unfortunately, 2 were homers, accounting for all 3 LT runs.

Is there a reason Butcher is not playing? His bat is very important.
Wondering the same. He was DH last night…Niners now up 10-3 heading to the 6th.
The staff has opted for what they feel is their best defensive lineup. That puts Butch’s bat on the bench for now. Jake gets back in the field and Butch is back at DH. In the meantime he’s a good PH option.
He pinch hit, didn’t DH. Just wanted to make sure he wasn’t hurt.

LT with 4 homers so far, accounting for 5 of their 6 runs. CLT with no homers, but lead 11-6 heading to the T9.
Great all around effort today. Niners with 22 hits. Defranco doing his Nate Furman impression, going 5-5. Niners win 14-6!

We will refer to this one as the Dante DeFranco game. Brought in to the lineup as a solid glove to solidly the defense, he grabs 5 hits and 3 RBI!
Pitching did well, game was never in doubt after the 3rd. Gave us a chance to win and we got plenty of run support.
Hopefully a win like this will give us some much needed confidence moving forward on the mound and offensively. Let’s take this series today!!

Today’s game pushed back to 12:20. That could be important because we have to bus to Dallas and catch a flight home from there. Time could be a factor today.
Gotta love playing in Ruston!! Thankfully this is the last time!!

Just turned on CUSA and there is a camera shot of their empty field. Gotta be a hater and say that it is ugly.
Good to see Evans get in for an inning yesterday. He set three down pretty quickly. I had such high hopes for him this season. Hope he can work his way back into the starting line-up.
