Coaches like Dean leaving right before the season to me isnât as big of a deal. There was a clear succession plan in place and no national search was going to happen be it March or October and the system and the team isnât going to change.
It is drastically different when itâs a coach who has not seen any success or a successful coach that doesnât have a set in stone succession plan with administration. The. Leaving upends the team and players and fans.
Wonder what Bennett thinks? I could be wrong but I really felt like Bennett assumed Sanchez would get it. UVA must have not been impressed with Sanchezâs stint with us.
UVA and I must think alike. I wasnât all that impressed with Sanchez while he was here either.
Wonder if his presser will be like it was at Charlotte. All fluff about process, pillars, etc. and zero accountability for actually winning or if he will put on a different face for the UVA fans.
Well, since the AD and Bennett both mentioned the UVA pillars - Humility, Passion, Unity, Servanthood, and Thankfulness - at last weekâs presser, wonât be surprised if we hear them spoken again today.
All fluff versus some fluff and some accountability is a big distinction.
Things like pillars are fine - when you back them up with winning. Most coaches have some sort of methodology or program like it. The difference is some of them win with them and some of them donât. When you donât win they just look stupid.
Agree but should be no surprise that some coaches of the Dick Bennett tree - both direct and indirect - adhere to the faith-based principles he first touted while at Wisconsin. Son Tony followed them verbatim while Sanchez and Ritchie McKay put their own spins on them at Charlotte and Liberty, respectively.
âevolve offensivelyâ
Ok, what do yâall think; did they under the table offer Cooley and he declined?
Actually not the first time these parody accounts have âtargetedâ Cooley after he left Providence for Georgetown. Thatâs the reason none of the college hoops talking heads even mentioned it - including John Fanta, also of Fox Sports!
