Hell, maybe we will have the best student section in the country! The school has really been promoting sports in the last couple of years on campus
I like this Harry kid
47-23 rebound advantage. That was a tiny team. Basically a scrimmage.
I’m curious how we will look in our season opener.
Thanks for the impressions.
Niagu was the first to take advantage of the NCAA’s decision to allow players to use 6 through 9 in their jersey numbers when he wore #99 during the 2023-24 season.
Then last year Blackmon wore #7 and Nika #77.
So yes, Bonke first Niner men’s hoopster to wear #49.
I don’t think I like it.
He better ball out if he’s going to wear that number!
IIRC, we had home jerseys for at least one season that had FORTY NINERS on the front but not finding any photos. Thinking it was when Melvin Johnson played for us, so in the early 1980s.
We don’t know any more or less than we always do after an exhibition, but I definitely prefer winning to losing.
We beat Marquette at the now Bojangles coliseum wearing those Forty Niners jerseys. I know because I got a floor pass to take pictures during the game. I’ll look around and post some if I can find them.
After that game, I wrote then Marquette coach Hank Raymonds to express my appreciation for his willingness to play us in Charlotte. And he was kind enough to respond. Of course, it would be the last time MU would do so until the C-USA 1.0 era required them to return to the QC some 15 years later!
We have lost to Belmont abbey in the last decade. A win is a good thing.
After reviewing the roster we are a lot bigger than I thought.
Size will not be a problem. We have size across the board.
As long as the bigs can box out and play defense and not get their butts kicked against better teams, we appear to have plenty of guards and wings who can score.
I’m cautiously optimistic for now.
Is there a box score for the game last night?
I don’t think I have ever been Less excited about Basketball season starting ![]()
Interesting. I’m way more excited than I expected to be when last season ended
Love your optimism, serisously keep it going, we need it.
