Hopefully we fair better than various predictions that show us going 4-5 through the rest of the OOC sked. (NOTE: that doesn’t include the second round in Orlando since that opponent won’t be known until 11/28. If Furman, we’re favored; if Richmond, no.)
Anyway, before the season began, I had figured we’d go 8-5 or 7-6 before conference play. Now that we have a few contests under our belt, I think we could actually do better as some of the Ls that I had pencilled in like Illinois State and Charleston haven’t done so well.
Of course, I’m well aware that Niner hoops always comes with surprises - both good and bad. Just hoping we get to January on the positive side of things as this season’s American Conference is looking to be wide open after USF and maybe Memphis.
Can he please be a difference maker on his birthday weekend?

BTW, DC freshman 7-0 C Ian Platteeuw made his collegiate debut - 8 pts 8 rebs 6 asts + 2 blks in 19 mins off the bench.
Starting senior 6-10 F Sean Logan missed the game with tendinitis.
Davidson is cheeks. BGSU almost came back and beat them after Davidson was up by like 18 in the 2nd half.
Up 20 at one point and by 19 with just over 2 minutes left. Matt McKillop teams usually wait until A-10 play to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory! Of course, they didn’t lose vs BGSU or us, but definitely having issues with finishing. Gotta think some of that’s on the coach for not having the right players on the court in crunch time. Sorta like Hornets HC Charles Lee!

I’m with y’all. Very encouraged by what I saw yesterday. That’s a legit team. I think we have some talent.
Shooting will come and go. Attitude and Effort should not. This team plays hard. They have a chance to do something special. Good chance that our season comes down to 3/4 days in March, but this is the first time since 2020 I’ve felt like we have a team that can get it done.
